These airlines can suck a D Comment from : D F |

If I saw a ticket with a stopover at my destination that was CHEAPER than a direct flight there, I'd buy it It's just being a capitalist consumer Not being a bad customer The company making me pay extra for less is to blame, not me seeing through their shenanigans Comment from : TheJimprez |
Why in the world would a flight from A to C with layover in B be priced less than a flight from A to B? To me, this is a sign that airlines have major problems with their pricing structures Travelers are absolutely using common sense to take advantage of this situation and I don't think airlines have justifiable grounds to complain or punish travelers for doing this Just make your pricing more common sense and transparent Comment from : handyatmusic |
People are so entitled these days No one is forcing you to fly😂 Comment from : Frog Universe |
You’ll get banned from flying for 3 years if you do this Beware Comment from : Frog Universe |

How are the airlines losing out of the person already pays the fair for the whole ticket Comment from : El hermanos |
To minimize the practiceairlines are going to eliminate carry-on baggageor only permit something incredibly small or only checked bags allowed They'll all be in agreement on it It COSTS more to service smaller out of the way places than a direct flight to a big airport Thats why flights to small cities have higher fares Its a businessnot a charity for Gen z Comment from : Brent J Peterson |
It's not worth risking a felony Comment from : Bulging Battery |

Skiplagging should not only be allowed, it should be against the law to punish! Not taking a paid-for flight can only HELP an airline If they want to prevent logistical problems, they should allow people to declare it as a skiplag and receive a rebate Comment from : Bookhermit |

Don’t do it 😂 did something like this over ten years ago and skipped the second flight because it was almost 23hr layover wait for the connecting flight and I used to have high anxiety flying and took a bus to the second place to take the connecting flight they made me pay a difference and told me not to do that again because they would put me on a “no fly list”that was out of the country when I tried doing that in the states because we lost our first flight and my friend had to get to work the next day they said if we didn’t take the next available flight from the first part of our flight, even though it wasn’t our fault we missed the plane (customs held her up even though she had the legal paperwork signed by her ex in order to travel with her 17 yr old daughter), we would forfeit the rest of the trip if we didn’t wait for the next flight, we were lucky that 3 passengers let us fly in their place because the airline had overbooked the ticketsit’s not worth the grief of paying extra and losing luggage Comment from : Diana Botello |

Remember they say corparations are people too Comment from : Sew 2 Prosper |
Airlines are mad because they were exposed that their prices don't make any logical sense The resources to fly on 2 planes is cheaper than 1? Comment from : Erwin Tan |
My understanding is that If you do it on your outbound journey, once you are a no-show on the 2nd leg your return journey is automatically canceled - so you can really only do it on the return journey Comment from : Henri Perejil |
I have been using this site for years Mad the general news pubic just now catching on My luggage is always carryon and never had a problem and ironically the NYC to Seattle flight is the one I usually use this practice on but getting off in LA or Vegas depending on my final destination but LA more often than not, Comment from : Shye My |

Hey Airlines, crazy idea but how about, STOP CHARGING AND ARM AND A LEG FOR SHORTER FLIGHTS IN SEATS THAT BARELY FIT AND ARM AND A LEG!!!! Also stop charging outrageous fees for bags, picking seats before the flight, picking an exit row etc Stop over charging people and they wouldn't go to such lengths to afford travel Comment from : EricAmanda01 |
Cincinnati to Milan with a layover in Atlanta was almost $1500 less than flying to Milan directly from Atlanta Comment from : Afemai E |
I don’t get why the airlines have an issue with it I get why they don’t like it but to penalize passengers over it is insane It will be like you order the special meal of the day at a restaurant that comes with desert but skip it Why should they penalize you? Comment from : A B |

I guess I did this accidentally when I missed a flight because I could not make the connecting flight in time It was international so I had to pick up my luggage That was part of the reason I missed it - Customs and a terminal change Comment from : Paul Wetor |
Why the hell is the connecting flight cheaper? It uses more fuel? Comment from : 93hothead |
Couldn't the argument can be made that YOU are actually saving the airlines some money? If you skip the second leg of your trip, that flight will weigh less (minus your body weight and your luggage) and uses less fuel Comment from : Paul Ngo |
Once again God forbid the American consumer is allowed to get ahead The airlines have CLEARLY !!! forgotten who pays their bills You watch Congress side with the airlines on this one too Comment from : Teresa Kinney |
If airlines truly want travelers to use them, they should simply stop with all this BSbrbrPenalizing customers who found a way around the insane pricing of the airline industry is itself insane and unsustainable in the long run Comment from : momo7gato |

What is wrong with purposely missing a flight? If a person wants to miss their flight, that is their right to do so A person can change their mind about travel plans at any time! Comment from : Ninja Nerd Student #69 |
Hi I am a retired airline marketing employee I have heard this over and over from travelers for years now Airlines won't do well or will lose money if they charge fairly by each leg of the itinerary The key to airline profit, along with full or nearly full flights, is to have a good mix of different kinds of fares for a particular city pair Airlines from the past which didn't last because of leg pricing were Laker, People Express, Braniff (their 2nd coming back) and some others Cheers Comment from : strafrag1 |
Maybe if they stopped gouging customers for flights people would not do this Comment from : Brad N |
Assholes just trying to rip off others Comment from : Michael J |
And if Reagan hadn't deregulated the airline industry this probably wouldn't even be an issue Comment from : Erins Movie Rants |
What about diarrhea from the food they gave you on the first flight Comment from : Marco Bonechi |

Sounds like the courts need to be involved in the pricing of tickets Comment from : Brendon Daggett |
Airlines also overbook flights, so really, they shouldn't be mad if someone skips a flight Comment from : Christopher Burtraw |
Learned about this hack four years ago, seriously considering doing this on a future trip brbrAirlines, make pricing more sensible if you don't want people to do this Comment from : mrmacross |
You don't need a bag, just steal under $950 in clothing and supplies when you get to CA As for the woman on the show who probably makes millions of dollars a year, no way in hell is she doing that, she's either in a private jet or way way up in first class Along with all the other oh-so-special people in the "elite" class Comment from : John jon |
I've never heard or even thought of this ideabrbrI know this is naive but I wish they just charged you according to how far you're traveling (not the destination) So if you're traveling less than 1000 miles it's $100 1000-2000 miles, $200 Etc, etc, Comment from : BigGoronSword |
What's it all about TELL US! Comment from : David C |
Is the issue that they are expecting the person from the connecting flight to be at the plane and by them not being there it holds up the plane? If so, I can see the issue Comment from : K K |

"Risky" "Comes with Risk" --yet I didn't hear anything all that risky Comment from : Jane Know It All |
Let’s discuss greedy corporations increasing prices for no reason Comment from : T T |
I don't understand people who are always trying to "cheat the system" over a few dollars From not declaring goods purchased overseas at customs to now skiplagging I'd rather just do the right thing and not have guilt/stress/etc on my conscience On the other hand, if the airlines weren't engaging in what appears to be price gouging, people wouldn't be taking these shortcuts Comment from : fooledyagood |
Better idea check the price to Florida or whatever using Canadian or Mexican airline They are not allowed to fly out of a US city but drive or vacation briefly across the border and between the exchange rate and the cheaper fare you can reduce the cost and get better service The US government is protecting airlines from competition Say you want to go to Florida Disneyland, well the price is jacked way up during the busiest times but it isn't costing the airlines more for fuel Comment from : Diana Stacey |
Wait This is not illegal but we’re getting penalized anyway? Is GMA working for the airlines? Comment from : James I |
So, I can pay less to get from A to B and the airline could even include a “free ride” to C Interesting! How about charging less from A to B directly from the first place? Greedy Corporate Comment from : egusiseed |
Poor people are so clever 😂😂😂 Comment from : Victor V |
Federalize the airlines! Comment from : Vengence is Mine |

"What do you do about your luggage?" This girl is obviously blond Comment from : Travel Review |
This shouldn't even be an issue If the airline can do one leg of a flight for less than that should be the airfare Can't be mad at frugal travelers for finding the best deal Comment from : Traci Ort |
Packing tip: A backpack and a purse will fit under any airline seat, even on a CRJ or ERJ You will sacrifice leg room, but if your goal is to make your destination, it's worth it I spent years flying standby with no gurantees of making any flight (FYI- Flight benefits are not as great as they seem when working for an airline) Comment from : Traveling Mechanic |
