This isn’t an average result from Chinese schools These are kids who are extremely supported by their parents who will take every chance to put them in after-school classes, just to enlarge their knowledge in every possible way Reputation is extremely important and Asians in general are incredibly competitive! Comment from : Inez Debaue |
This is why US is behind in education Comment from : Texan254 |

I’ve been thinking about this a lot since I began to do education degree in the US All the best middle schools in China are public schools, colleges too Those foreign language middle schools are definitely prestige but an average middle school serves average kids fine It’s not the situation in the US though The public education system fails kids especially for those who are from a underprivileged background in my opinion Comment from : Esthers2411 |

I’m in my mid 30s right now and maybe I lose track of what younger generations are like nowadays Do they really speak English that good? Are they from international school though? If students from local Chinese school have that level of English proficiency, that’s very impressive I remembered at my age back in the 90s or early 2000, most people speak with a heavy accent and lack of vocabulary (ie sucks at English) Comment from : Elllllllle |
Mate, Chinese and Americans got the same accent! Comment from : SRP |

Once those communist Chinese master some 'skills'that nation is bound to render chaos and corruption to the free worldthe reason is just simple, since none of those modern universal values such as "freedom, equality, let alone Christian faith" have been embedded in these ppla faithless nation can do anything horrible once given the chance to grow Comment from : Akira Ryu |

That’s impressive that can speak English fluently with almost perfect American accent! Their age was the The time when I started learning English in Canada, and I am fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin after 30+ years I’ve tried to learn Czech and Hungarian too when I was working in Europe briefly, and Hungarian is by far more difficult to learn than other languages I think it’s easier for children to learn to become bilingual or multilingual than adults Most of my Canadian born Asian friends or peers speak only English, it’s a common thing that they are reluctant to speak their parents native language when they start going to school that have only English speaking classmates and teachers Comment from : Wing Lee |
Everything, the best songs, video games, cinema, music, which young people are spending loads of time on are primarily based in America Their favorite and most famous twitch streamers stream English English is a world wide language with it being the closest to a global language we have come as human civilization It’s no wonder the younger generations pick it up easy They even type in Pinyan which is based on the Latin Alphabet In reality it’s not that English is an easy language to learn it’s that it’s accessible globally and very commonly plastered across China as well You don’t see Chinese symbols in America but you see English all across China Comment from : James Connor |

The guy with the perfect American accent has better ways of expressing himself when communicating with others in English, because Americanized English is the most used form of English-speaking communication, so the American-English accent will be used when people communicate in English Comment from : KingRichTDM |
There are TONS of specialized private schools where are culturally based Similar to this it's a specialized school and not mainstream Korean schools, Spanish schools, French school, and a lot of the students in these schools are not of the culture Comment from : Bowen Hunsaker |
This is more a testament to the Chinese school structure and expectation of their younger students than of the of the students themselvesbrThough I am very impressed with these young kids, many children meet the expectations that are set for them, and in the states, it is much lower than China brbrAnd it’s only getting worse as we continue to lower standards in the name of “equity” Comment from : KevinOnEarth |

Have to give credit to their teachers for doing a good job On the other hand, many Chinese parents enroll their kids in after school classes or with private tutors The average Americans would do their homework from school and have their playtime Some Chinese students would have their week filled with other learning related activities such as languages, art, music (piano & violin in particular) A Chinese-American is very likely to be in an after-school study program
brToday the average Chinese family has fewer kids Parents would spend a lot of money nurturing their kids to make sure the next generation gets aheadbrOf course we all have the ability to learn languages or play music to a high level Goes back to the nature /nurture debate 【天才与培养争议】 Some people assume a person's ability to speak 1 or more languages is a talent he's born with while others think it's something that can be taught with a lot of hard work Comment from : thepianoplayer416 |

Wow they sound like they grew up in the US or Canada They even have the accent and mannerisms They would have to learn their second language basically at the same time they are learning their own language to sound that natural, otherwise there would be certain pronunciations that they would struggle with Most of these students could pass as English being their first language which is absolutely amazing Comment from : David |

There's this girl Kathy Cat that speaks english in her videos and and is white, but goes to Japan and speaks Japanese but her native tongue is German The thing that's interesting about that is that her English sounds British I have always just supposed that her English teacher was British, and hearing these Chinese kids speaking American English, makes me believe it even more Comment from : Micro Tasker |

I am a native Chinese speaker I grew up in places like China and Hong Kong but I originally went to an International School, where they teach us English as the main language 😂 There was a local section in our school as well, but they spoke Chinese and Cantonese, and had English as a sub language I have an American accent as well and now I study in Britain Some of my classmates say I sound really American because they’re not familiar with my accent, but growing up with classmates that were native Chinese and spoke American English was really normal for me 🤣 The reason why we develop these kinds of accents differ, most International schools teach Chinese students following either the British curriculum or the American curriculum In doing so they teach pronunciations following American or British culture and naturally students develop the same tone Thank you for the video!
