I'm only one person, but I usually go to the store every 4-6wks, sometimes I even skip a month I spend $250- 350 ea time I'm not really frugal in my choices, I just try to buy mostly healthy I buy frozen fruit/veg (for options that don't spoil), but currently I eat mostly quinoa/dandelion/tomato & other garden item salads I never eat or use the full amt of groceries I buy, which also includes my household & personal supplies, so there are always items carried into the next month that don't need purchasing Also, it is extremely rare that I would ever eat out (Only when visiting family)

I know this is not going to be a popular opinion on here but when you switch to a phone plan that has no brick and morter location you accept and contribute to humans having less job opportunities, the 5g it's riding on was paved by innovation and that cost money Just like using self check out , you say to the corporation am ok with people losing their jobs so am not inconvenience by waiting or having to say hi or eye contact, I'll do the work not getting any extra discount and help people lose their job for my convenience So my point is yes you are saving for yourself but at what cost to society Don't get me wrong I believe in savings One should be aware and grateful that others are buying stuff , buyers brings innovation Its when you are out of balance with it that is problem

My save for later gets organized by clothes, household, electronics, etc This works great When they have their big sales I look at my list and decide what I really need at that time What is surprising is that a bunch of small purchases add up very quickly but you can at least see that your going to blow your budget this way and curb buying those dish towels, catnip, etc Buying them when you think of it would really break the bank without even realizing it

Know if you’re a guy don’t have a cheap wedding or buy a cheap ring Don’t be dumb enough to get married in the first place if your guy marriage is an absolute scam, there are no benefits to it and not only will you have to pay money for an entrance fee, but there is at least a 50 chance that you’re gonna have to pay an exit fee and depending on whether you married a piece of poop human being or not your exit feet could be monumentally huge One person I know of they lost $250,000 plus half of their pension when he got divorced when I saw that happened I was like Yep screw that because I’m one of them greedy bastards and I want my whole pension not half of it so guys out there be smart, never get married and never live in a way that the state views as a marriage, ie common law marriage we really need to get the marriage rates to zero well, except for the lesbians and British cigarettes I don’t care if they get married but between men and women we need to get the marriage rights to zero thank you for your support everybody

I agree so much on the one about the wedding I know it's an important ceremony but I feel like most people just spend that much money on it just to boast and try to make others feel envy of them, which is so in tune with what society is rn (showing off) My brother is about to get married but he's just gonna do a small meal in a restaurant with the closest family and friends, 10-15 people max You really don't need more

Weddings can be ridiculously expensive but it's possible to have an actually classy traditional wedding, that is beautiful, on a much lower budget if you just simplify things and cut out the flimflam Also plain gold wedding bands are not expensive

Friends of mine made their wedding rings for each other in a goldsmith workshop These rings have an unique design, combined with a beautiful memory they both share The price was not much more than the metal, and if they had brought some older jewelery they didn't like anymore, it would even been cheaper

very good video, you seem a very sensible young man; i do that once a week shopping thing nowdays and always make sure i have some burgers in the freezer; i also tend to eat up left overs the next day for my lunch to get the grocery costs down: i like the tip for your wedding day: when i got married in 1976 we had cheap wedding rings, and no honeymoon; mum and dad paid for the wedding, but we got the flowers: expensive weddings were not the norm so as long as the bride and bridgeroom are happy thats all that matters thanks for your advice

Something that helps me as a homemaker, is to think of my husband at work and what his wage is "How many hours did he have to work to pay for this item?" It helps me decide if those hours of my husband being away from our kids, myself and our home, was worth the item i want to buy It really helps me with the impluse buys Also to think of the things we are saving for and remember we will reach our goals faster if i dont bye all the things i want or THINK we need on amazon!

Not sure if anyone does this but if I want to purchase a graphic tee or anything with a graphic design on it, I usually set that image as my phone wallpaper and leave it there for weeks Once I see the image daily, I no longer need the actual item 😅

If you take that 30K for the average wedding and put it in an index fund, assuming a 7 annual compound return, in forty years it will be worth almost 450K If you make it 40k (with the ring) the ending amount is close to 600k

We spent $200 on both our wedding rings, they were custom made from an etsy artist We have beautiful rings that fit our aesthetic, and we supported a small artisan We got married at the court house in front of a judge and had a potluck BBQ at a friend's house after We thought the idea of spending thousands on a wedding and reception was asinine We also meal plan, because it saves our budget and as vegetarians we eat mostly fresh things so you want to only get the things you're going to actually use before they go bad Little things add up over time

My favourite tip: whenever I'm close to buying something on a whim (a coffee, new clothes, whatever), I'll move that amount of money out of my chequing account and into my savings account Usually, knowing I've saved that money is enough of a dopamine hit to calm the urge! And if it's not, I just dig into my savings account to pay for the item (which hurts more, somehow)

We buy locker meat in bulk- so when I go to the grocey store its for produce, cheese, eggs, butter, and shelf items brbrThe issue I have is I do not like being at home so I end up spending money on gas more (big vehicle too) and if I forget enough snacks for myself or the kids we end up eating take out

I grew up knowing the more you go shopping, the more you buy My Mom only went grocery shopping twice a month One large shop, one small The large shop did take 2+ hours but she would do a freezer check/pantry check prior & went with an extesive list She had a budget and stuck to it The small shop was two weeks later and was for more fresh things that you go through fast
