My half brother was 7 years older than me and had a head injury at 12 that caused a lot of disorders He would get very violent and rage, when he got older he got a bad coke addiction that made it so much worse He used to beat the shit out of my mom all the time and I’d break it up and he’d run incase the police came and would come back later crying, not crocodile tears, real crying and self hatred for what he had done When I was 19 they got in a fight and this time he didn’t run he chased her upstairs and kicked her door in, it was obvious this was different He was choking her to death and would just throw me into things (he was bigger and stronger especially when angry, I was also afraid of him) I saw she was dying and I couldn’t stop him so I grabbed the families gun and planned to only wing his arm (a bed blocked his rear) They called it an act of god, the bullet hit him just right in the armpit and killed him I tried to revive him and called the police but it was instant, I don’t even know he was dead i thought he was in shock as was I, I found out he died while waiting in a cop car for over a half hour That was in 2008 and it still eats me alive The kicker is I now know how mentally ill my mother is and what she was doing to him til years later I know I was saving my mom blah blah blah, but how the fuck can I ever forgive myself?
