My last cigarette was 3/11/14 I was in Downtown Chicago after attending a Bulls game I got off the train having my last cigarette(so I thought) I walk into a Walgreens and the price of smokes was 13 bucks! That was the moment I said, I think this is a sign to quit I bed rested in my Hotel room for 3 straight days to get over my withdrawals It was so bad that it got better after 3 days Once I got over that 3 day hump, I decided to go for 11 more days It’s been cruise control ever since If I can quit smoking, anyone can too

I smoked for 36 years- ever since sophomore yr in college(always 3/4-1 full pack a day smoker)recently quit for good- 12/12/2022 Used the patch for about a weekafter the one week, my sheer determination/commitment for my kids not to still see me smoking made it just so easy for me It would've put me in a VERY embarrassing position THAT ALONE just made it sooooooo easy for me personally Never looked back Every time I see someone smoking on the street, I just think to myself about how they're just "trapped" prisoners to nicotine It's simply a substance addiction Nothing more, nothing lessIf I had instead religiously invested that money into just the S&P Index, EACH AND EVERYDAY instead of buying that 1 pack of cigarettes everyday, I would've EASILY been a retired multi-millionaire today at the age of 56

My grandfather grew tobacco as a crop many decades ago and he said he would keep some of his crop for himself to smoke Eventually quit in his 80’s This might be total crap but was curious if growing and smoking his own crop was not as toxic as the commercial stuff and why it didn’t affect him as much
