Austin/All, I have a basic question regarding YouTube earnings As we all know all content creators want viewers to SUBSCRIBE to their channel, my question is: Do content creators get paid based on how many subscribers they have, or based on how many views they get? PS - I'm not totally stupid, I realize the more subscribers one has the more potential views a video might get but I just wanted to know the honest answer to my question above, thanks to anyone who honestly knows and can explain it in a clear and simple way for me Cheers :) Comment from : Mark Manea |

I also have a spending account and a savings, but I have 2 investment account due to differences in fees I always have last months pay on my spending account when the next comes in I have automated referrals to my investments and saving accounts and payment of my fixed expenses I know by heart what my expenses are and when they are due I get paid monthly but every week I have a referral from my spending account to my saving account I started some months ago just for fun but it turned out to be a great idea as I do not "feel" I lack the money as I would have if I had referred the full amount in the beginning of the month That's why I do it like this now I often work a little extra These money goes into dividend stock, but my main investments are in ETFs I am saving for early retirement In my country (Denmark) the retirement age is 68 I want to retire 4 years earlier Comment from : Dorte |

Hot take savings tip I discovered: PAY for shipping If you truly need to order something online, it’s never a “savings” to spend more than you have to in order to get free shipping Better to pay $5 to ship a $10 book than spend $35 to get “free” shipping Yes, you get value from free shipping but not by spending $20 more than you have to Comment from : Big Philly |

I've recently moved away, changed career & on the way to paying down debt like crazy I am wondering if its worth doing a 1 off episode like a blog I think it MIGHT make some people think, hey, maybe I'm not stuck forever 🤷♂️ I'm not too proud or ashamed to use my own numbers tbh Comment from : Enis |

Up until 6 months ago, my monthly take home pay was a bit less than yours and I got by using a lot of these money management methods as well My rent was $1,000 a month and utilities were another $150 so that alone was half my take home pay But I always have lived pretty frugally so I was just fine I guess never thought of myself as low income during that time- just on a tight budget I think of low income as qualifying for gov assistance like Medicaid, food stamps, etc Comment from : Annika Carlson |

Thank you for the tips, one question, when you say pay off your credit card, do you mean pay off the current balance on it or the statement balance, I wonder since some people say letting newer transactions go to the next statement is good to build credit of course keeping it lower than 30, I would appreciate your answer if you know what I meanbrThanks Comment from : tec858606 |

I love watching videos like this, because I need the continous motivation to be more diligent about paying myself first, and rebuild my savings that was lost during the time that I was laid off during the pandemic, and the expense of a couple of car repairs I've always lived below my means, and even when I had much better paying jobs, I didn't get sucked into the mentality of lifestyle creep/inflation Even so, emergencies arise, and it was nice to have my savings as a buffer to take care of what was needed Comment from : Rachel G |
|
Yes to more budgeting videos Comment from : Scott Tea |

Bro love how down to earth you are Great content too Comment from : Jayan Samir Verma |

I do the same thing! It's easier for me to track my spending by swiping just my credit card (yes, I have a few withdrawing from my bank directly, but I know what they are) However, I would like to invest--even if just a little--and allow it to grow for my children I hope you have other videos on just that If not, please do a video on how you invest, please :) Comment from : Lysa Shimkus |

I have a similar strategy except I use two banks I travel a lot and had my debit card hacked when I was in Spain I contacted my bank to resolve the situation and get a replacement card sent to me What I didn't realize is they freeze ALL your accounts so I was unable to use my credit card or access my savings either Luckily, I had another credit card from a different bank I could use in the interim because it took 2 weeks to get the new card and have my accounts unfrozen Don't put all your eggs (ie your money) in one basket Comment from : Linda Dorman |

Where can you find a $700 a month rent these days? Comment from : Pauline Hillson |

Hey Austin, what you’re saying sounds good but also the reality that not everybody is hugely successful on YouTube is another situation! It doesn’t seem like many people even start to get any kind of sponsors until they reach a certain point a minimum from what I’ve seen of 10,000 on YouTube as subscribers, and sometimes not until a lot more subscribers! Another thing is a lot of people in the same genre are all trying to do the same thing even though the budgets different the style of budgeting is different and the method in which you budget and how much you have to budget is also different there are people who just luckily will gain more subscribers than others I’ve seen this time and time again where One person will upload the same amount of videos consistently as another YouTube, or one person will get 10,000 views where another YouTuber we’re only get 500 views! It’s not always the rhythm or algorithm of YouTube either I have seen so many good Youtubers I think sometimes are better than those in the higher brackets with the more subscribers and I could never have been able to seem to understand, and or put a finger on what exactly someone does, in order to gain so many subscribers so fast! For example, I know a YouTuber that is in the 30 K range, and this YouTuber is amazing But sometimes this YouTuber is all over the place and literally doesn’t have a clue and is not consistently uploading at this time I know another YouTuber that has less than 2000 subscribers is consistently uploading has great content and a great Etsy shop and she doesn’t make squad compared with the other YouTuber does but she’s consistently uploading and putting out great content, and I really love her channel more than I do the more popular YouTuber! I really wonder what it actually is is it the editing process, is it the photos the thumbnails seem to drag people into a video or the catchy titles even people I’ve seen they have great photos for their thumbnails, and have a great content and great editing skills sometimes don’t get the bigger amount of subscribers Always been a wonderful a lot of people Have this exact same question!br2:18 Comment from : Without Limits Budgets With AarynLynn |
