What a bunch of stupid mental gymnastics It's obvious that when people think or say "better" in that context that they mean more capable and competent at performing cognitive tasks(which is the main thing us urban humans do nowadays) It has nothing to do with morality or subjective value, all of these are just deflections in an attempt to protect fragile egos Our modern hierarchies are mostly of competence and productivity(of which money is a direct consequence)brbr(Although there seems to be a correlation between IQ and Criminal Behaviour, or at least, Criminal Behaviour that we manage to catch)

Dont know what was said after this clip but THERES PLENTY of situations where its actually better to be dumber Theres merit to the saying (sometimes) that "ignorance is bliss" Intelligence is often a curse to some of the most gifted with it If you dont have the nourishment/environment for fully utilizing that intelligence than it rots your mind Look at animals in a zoo Some animals flourish in that setting but others become overwhelmed with anxiety and other forms of distress because they have a mental aptitude that far exceeds what their situation is able to nuture Tigers, bears, whales etc Will just begin pacing, spinning, and displaying other behaviors not natural to them Theres definitely a case for being too smart for your own good

This topic reminds me of experiences that myself and many, many others experience during early and middle childhood years Very many people give accounts of having a very easy time absorbing information at an early age; reading at a college level or above before their teens, exceptional understanding of mathematics, artistically inclined, very logical, etc Of course, in these anecdotal accounts, all of this is either lost or fails to advanced past a certain plateau during the latter stages of pubescence Whether this is "genetic" or "conditioned" intelligence, clearly things can change rather easily depending on your environmentbrbrFor the record, I'm not implying that I, nor any of the others that may have had this experience, are geniuses or what have you

So called intelligence is the brains capability to filter and focus specific aspects of universal intelligence, and also the speed and quality of association of individual memories It is genetic in the way that the shape and structure of the brain/nervous system directly influences these things However this kind of intelligence is only a very limited dimension of universal intelligence and says nothing about the amount of ignorance that still exists in the individual The amount of ignorance determines how evolved a human being is, not the amount of "intelligence"
