it is possible to use clean energy to make electric cars,its not possible as far as i know to use IC cars without harmin the environment the first point speaks for itself you tell me at what point should people start worrying about what they gonna use as their primary energy source instead of fossil fuels 50 years before we run out of it? 100 or maybe 300? does seem like its imperative for every country to find an alternative renewable energy source ASAP

As a general rule, in India, every kwh of electricity consumed to charge an electric car produces 085kg of CO2 So small electric cars (like nexons) are just about as clean as a honda city hybrid in the city, and most petrol and diesel cars can match EV Co2 emissions on the highway And this is without taking into account emissions from manufacturing bid fat batteries India is not the place for EVs yet Overall hybrids are better

There is no "Transition to electric vehicles" Not that people don't like EVs - there isn't enough lithium Even IF you devoted every ounce of the 100,000 Tons of lithium to EVs max is 10 million Ys But there are 1 billion cell phones, battery farms, laptops etc all using lithium; so the real number is 5 to 6 million in a market of 100 million vehicles annually, 5-6 niche market isn't a transition At this point EV advocates say what about sodium what about carbon what about them? There isn't a single vehicle incorporating them yet More sobering? 14 Billion light vehicles exist of which EVs are 03 Add to this EVs don't work for a lot of purposes - they perform terribly under load A Rivian truck towing a trailered Mustang only goes 120 miles before needing a charge, 100 miles in frigid weather same goes for any EV under load; their range is horrible in that circumstance If it were not for "subsidies" they wouldn't even be selling well; EVs are more costly than alternatives

regarding the future of EVs in India you said that we don't have the infrastructure to support them People made the same argument about digital payment during demonitization There was no viable medium and the only app available was paytm but look where we are now We are the world leaders and have simply the best payment interface in the entire world Similar can happen with EVs We shouldn't discourage people from buying EVs because if more people buy EVs the government will be under more pressure to make better infrastructure
