I haven't made any progress on my acoustic for a long time now because of the barre chords, I've tried and tried and watched videos but man it's too difficult for me right now, until now I've been repeating the same basic chords I know and I'm practically a pro at it now lol Comment from : Leilei |

I'm 14 and deciding on acoustic or electric, I'm leaning more towards acoustic as I love the sound and vibe but the electric was recommended by my friends sooo I'm also broke so I don't have enough for an amp and guitar lmaoo Comment from : diceyyz |
Well, that explains alot as I been watching a lot of electric and I can't bend the strings on my acoustic Now I know why Best guitar to start with is the one you already own IMO I am also guessing trying to copy electric guitar players with an acoustic is impossiblebr Also, you never touched on Acoustic steel string vs Acoustic nylon string My fingers are fleshy so not easy to callous up Comment from : BunzeeBear |
Thanks! Comment from : howard jones |

How about the nylon (classical) guitar? Comment from : Slow Swimmer |
Electric Guitars are indeed the easiest to intonate thanks to their adjustable bridge Some Acoustic Guitars have Nylon Strings so they're even more beginner friendly, & they indeed feel the same as Electric Guitars I was also able to find a Nylon Electric Guitar which is even more beginner friendly Comment from : Oscar Stern |
What about an electroacoustic guitar? I really want to start by playing acoustic for that campfire vibe, but because of my hubby's work and hobbies it'd be better that I can practice quietly so I can do it more He thought a good solution would be electroacoustic but I never really hear anyone talk about them Are they not really any good? Or are more people purists and want to just keep the styles separate so that's why you don't really hear many people mention/use them? Comment from : Misty |

I have played both for a long time, now I’m nearly 70, still learning and having fun and still suffer from GAS (guitar acquisition syndrome) I currently have:brA Ukulele bass, A Bowl back Baritone Ukulele, 2 Tenor ukuleles (one low G one standard tuning), 1 Koa concert Ukulele and a Zebrawood Soprano ukulele plus 2 electric guitars a T type and a Offset type both with P90 pups, 1 Travel guitar (strung with ball end nylon strings), 2 full size acoustics (1 of them a bowl back) and my 1970 made Japanese Classical guitarbrPhew what a list 😂brI’m enjoying your channel and finding some nice tips to make things a bit easier for myself now my memory is not so good - now what was I going to say to you… 🤪 Comment from : Darrell W |

I prefer the sound of an accoustic guitar I compare ease of playing to the difference between driving a standard vs an automatic Once you master driving a standard, it's much easier to switch to an automatic If you can play an accoustic guitar, an electric is easy peasy Comment from : birgit mitchell |
Lauren I'm an older person than again I love a Acoustic Comment from : Tim Dillon Tablet |

The easiest guitar to learn on is a short scale one, either electric or acousticbrI tried to learn on an acoustic, but due to starting to learn late in life and havingbrsmall hands, i found the hard way that acoustic necks were not for mebrI tried many different guitars until i found an Ibanez with a slim wide radius neckbrand a low action with no fret buzz after a pro set-upbrYou must try before you buy, or struggle like i did Comment from : Barbara Pape |
I’ve just ordered an electric acoustic guitar Comment from : Leanne |

Hi Lauren! I couldn't compare a- and e-guitars On acoustic you have instantly the great sound but you have to play more exactly The sound of a good e-guitar is unique as well and needs different e-techniques and setting knowhow So better you have both and play them as much as you can Cheers and take care! :-)) Comment from : Dean S |
I'd like to spend more time with my electric , but my old man's neck and shoulders don't allow it Good advice , thanks Lauren Comment from : sundowner62 James |

Lauren splendid video as always! Let me share that I have an electric at home with the Fender mustang micro mini amp, which I love and recommend A couple of months ago I bought an acoustic for the office and I'm regretting it because it's another type of monster A friend of mine suggested me to keep the acoustic and practice regularly, because at the end, in some time can use each of them Comment from : Juan Penagos |
Great video I have both but rarely play the acoustic I learnt on the electric because it is much less bulky and if you play without an amp you don't disturb anyone I learned too how to do a setup including intonation, it is not that difficult, but gives great satisfaction when you play it! PS I am now gonna subscribe! Best wishes Bob from England Comment from : B Hylands |
That’s good, I have both There not expensive ones but there good enough for my ability at this stage Comment from : Wes Hawkins |
Hi Lauren, I had a guitar teacher once tell me that one advantage to an acoustic is the sound is more honest On an electric, let's say you get a muted string on a chord, for example, there are certain effects on an amp that can cover that up Whereas on acoustic, what you play is what you hear So it's an easier way to see your progress What do you think about that? Comment from : Jesse Ross |
I heard about classes for guitar in 3 months with an expert in Liverpool for £2000 bris that a lot? Comment from : Afnan Shabanah |
I’ve had and love both Like you said, acoustic builds strength and accuracy Bar cords are easier on electric Perhaps another pro for acoustic… it’s better for your neighbors 😂 Comment from : Music Lover |

Great video I'm an older newbie I have both, and enjoy going back and forth between them Right now I'm trying to get better at fingerpicking and I find that the acoustic is the guitar to practice on (for me) I do better with practicing Barre Chords on the electric Comment from : Stephen Smith |
