Knish was the actual hero in Rounders Mike was a talented poker player w no bankroll management skills and fairly poor judgement

Look at the setup of the shot at 0:50 You see the word "rules" peeking from around Knish's head while he's lecturing Mike while he's standing between the support structure of two pillars Which also resembles prison barsbrbrMike, on the other hand is separated from Knish by the pillar and is standing outside of that support structure with a life saver and an open door behind himbrbrIt's supposed to indicate that Mike has outgrown Knish There is definitely merit to the advice and guidance Knish is offering, but Mike wants to aim high and that requires taking a risk and riding the razor's edge of chaos Mike has to follow his own principles on this one and put everything on the line
