I have to admit, Bill Gates makes a lot of sense here There are some organizations which are "non-profit" that have what they call "surplus revenue" and some of these can invest and plan for future growth and development, but people seldom realize how much money goes into creating new products and new investment and even creating 100 new jobs in our modern Economy There are other non-profits that are efficient and provide necessary services or product on a regular basis for example Electric Utilities owned by Cities and Towns across America or REMC's but they are limited geographically even when they provide outstanding service Gates knows the score in this subject because he came up through the ranks - if my reading about him is correct - when the Computer Industry was beginning to hit the home market and a large amount of product available to home users consisted of free software and shareware that were marketed on the basis of try now and send the author a check if you like the product Thank God, America has both options and Americans can enjoy the best of everything We allow for individual initiative as well as for corporate research and development and as Mr Gates points out, large corporations have an ongoing stream of profits and deep financial pockets
