Steven Covey felt that the first key to success was to "begin with the end in mind" Every metals purchase I've transacted was made with "the sell" in mind I don't buy anything I can't sell easily I also discuss this plainly with the metals dealers I've done business with If debating between two options, I'm known to ask: "Which one would you buy back quicker and why?" If I can't sell it later, and do so easily, I don't want it Zero percent of my stack has been in sentimental or numismatic directions I buy only lower premium - although not always the "lowest" - , and highly recognizable, well-known coins, rounds, and bars in various weights/sizes BTW, even the packaging matters I had a stack of 1/4oz gold coins that was encased in their original plastic sleeves Was thinking I'd get capsules for them until a dealer told me he'd pay me a bit more if I left 'em in the original sleeves Done (They do look so nice in capsules but hey, it's about the sell; not how it looks in the safe) Comment from : Jay Barr |

Don't know what others do/think But I've never sold "hold in hand" physical, I like the fact that it takes a week/some bother to actually sell it When I needed cash I sold my vaulted stuff within minutes My wealth is fully diversified, gold AND silver, physical AND vaulted I regard that as a fully diversified portfolio :) (actually I do) Comment from : William William |

I took all my Englehard bars to my LCS to get it appraised to see how much I could get for them but I didn’t sell them I have seven 10 ounce bars three poured and four pressed Engelhard bars and few 1 ounce Engelhard bars too My LCS will only give spot for the pressed bars for a total of $1884 for all of them I’m kind of disappointed so be careful on what you stack before selling Comment from : Silver Honda |

Thanks for your story Good to keep in mind that you should not be emotional about the precious metals They are a holding place to store your wealth If you need to buy something, sell the PMs without regret As far as what to sell - it really doesn't matter Sovereign coins have a premium because of a guarantee of purity, but all quality rounds are good as well Gold is a better choice to hold if space and weight are concerns Comment from : Scott B |
Last year I changed my portfolio allocation Instead of cash, gold and silver I took advantage of the summer gold dip and turned 90 of the cash into gold I’ve sold all at great profit and still have 40 left Silver is so depressed I don’t a point in selling any Gold is it for me, looking forward to another summer dip 😂🎉 Comment from : Boris Perez |
Great update Btw, in your opinion when it comes to buying a 10oz bar this week during the dip, would you pick a Nadir 10 ounce bar from Turkey for 250 or a germania mint 252 or Asahi 255 or the silver Pamp suisse 261 or the Royal mint Britannia 263 or the RMC Canadian bar 266? Comment from : Eli |
