You suppose to tell what you actually study in a mechanical engineering course but instead you go off about self praising your exam result to show off What an idiot! Like the fact you keep harping maths is important to engineering when even a kid knows that Comment from : pete xi |
did you ever get a Masters degree Comment from : Daniel Benitez |
Really congrats for such marks currently half way through my first year and i can confirm it is NOT at all easy to attain such grades Comment from : Assani Yuma |

As a Computer Science Major who has an older brother in Mechanical Engineering, and many friends who battempted/b Mechanical Engineering, these grades really are solid!brbrThe 3 courses he struggled in are infamous for being a struggle across just about any University, and having attended the courses (mostly for fun, I asked the professor if I could audit the course, to which they replied I was more than welcome to) and yea Dynamics, Fluid Dynamics, and certain other courses are awful to take xD Comment from : Daring Darius |
I’m a third year mechanical engineering student in Ghana brI want to say you did really well attaining such grades brFor me I also love calculus just like you did by so far my best grades were in Fluid mechanics, thermodynamics and Engineering and Technical Drawing brBig ups bro Comment from : Emmanuel Poku |

Mechanical Engineer Ungrad here I'm 1 term out from my graduation, wanted to add my 2 cents Tamer, congrats on those grades dude - thats territory that a lot of us never see Me personally, I just came to realize that I wanted to look back on this time here in college happily and feel like I gained social experience on top of all of the classwork, otherwise you're dooming yourself down a 4-5 year path of depression with no upsides that never seems to quit getting worse So, I took a job as an RA (fell in love with this job), reduced my credit load and decided to graduate in 5 years instead of the 4 year window promoted by my university, and focused on being a person as well All that to say, I'm pretty happy with my 33 GPA all things considered And lastly, it is definitely possible to achieve the grades that Tamer did first try, and if I went back and retook a number of my classes, I am certain I would ace many of them But that's the point I was trying to make to you all here: at what cost I am thankful that I can say that I woke up most days and was able to still smell the roses through it all Best of luck to all of you fellow engineers <3 Comment from : Zach Culp |
How come you said 5 years when it’s 4 years of studying? Comment from : وليد waleed |

Ur system education seems to be easy than us, I can say that during my first two years in preparatory classes before even entering to an engineering shcool, we studied much courses about different concepts in mathematics and physics and which were very advanced U can image any course u have taken The system was very tough, we study 9hours per day and many subjects (Maths, Physics, Computer science, Engineering technologies, philosophic languages, traduction) All that in order to pass a national exam in the last 2 years in order to choose your engineering field and the school u want to study in Comment from : AHLACH Hassan |
American Universities are set up a lot different than European ones by the looks of this Comment from : Viper TD |

I HIGHLY recommend that you map out ALL your classes ASAP This video is a good start but general education courses in the US take this to a whole new level As a helicopter parent the idea of just turning my 18 to life sentences (2 daughters) loose in college with my money mortifies me Anyway I was SHOCKED at the difference in coarse load between my first daughter and my second daughter The first double majored at UC Davis in International Relations and Spanish AND she got a minor in Education Oh and she spent a year studying Spanish in Salamanca Spain Well she graduated in 4 years with no problems except for the little detail of trying to get a job with only daisy majors during the great recession Well she eventually went back to college and 15 YEARS after graduating from high school she finally finished another BS degree in nursing to get a decent jobbrbrDaughter 2 wants to be a mechanical engineer In the process I mapped out all her required courses and was SHOCKED that it was going to take her 3 years in community college just to knock out all the math, chemistry (1 year needed to transfer to Davis) and physics The real kicker though was all the crazy ass general education courses she STILL had to take It is BEYOND STUPID to force engineering students to take absurd courses in gender studies when they already have a sh!t ton of STEM classes to take That's when it occurred to me that a Daisy major is basically a major in general education which is why it is SOOOO much easier to graduate on time (but without any skills an employer will pay for) All in all it is still much more worth it to take five or even six years to get the engineering degree because you are ONE AND DONE First daughter ran from STEM classes like the devil running from the cross only to have to bite the bullet later Kids that don't recognize this early will just hit a wall later Comment from : Keeping It Rio |
the workload per semester is astounding Seems harder than premed from an outsiders perspective Comment from : rob |

I guess the grading is very different in different countries In my first year (in England), I finished 11th in my class with a 69 average - I don't think anyone averaged over 80 And our courses seem to be much more intensive (I graduated with a Master's after 4 years, whereas this guy got a Bachelor's after 5 years) Comment from : weetabixharry |
That was really nice, but I would have chosen at least 2 courses related to aerospace and aeronautic engineering, thankfully mechanical engineering has so many opportunities Comment from : محمد الجابري |
Hey, Tamer I really enjoyed watching this video of yours! I hope that you could give us some tutorials for integral calculus someday if you have time! I know that you’ll explain it very well, I am not taking an ME program, but my major is close to that Comment from : kirie |

You guys don't take physics waves and fields or mechanical vibrations? Comment from : Dilpreet Rahal |
As a former Waterloo student and also former grad school student in the US and talking to US graduate admissions officers EVERYONE that come from Canada should be aware that grades are heavily bell curved (ie normal distribution) as in contrast in the US they don't do this in the US (US admissions officers are aware of this practice in canada) by doing this, you see as what he has described there a few students gets in the 90's and most of the class is in the 70's (which is a B- or so in canada) note canada doesn't really use the letter grade system that heavily Many schools in the US also only use A, B,C etc with no intermediate +/- scores and random garbage like someone in highschool getting a 70gpa because they had AP courses etc Comment from : Mellowyellow8888 |
dynamics was tough for me too it was a blend of dymics with kinematics i took it over the summer so a lot of stuff crushed into a 2months class the professor was a PHD ex-NASA r&d scientist he was just too smart to teach! i didnt really enjoy calc but i did really well with thermo and materials again, it was mainly because of the professor Comment from : DunePanda |
“ I just love calculus it just makes so much sense to me “ LOL Comment from : Wealthy Ways |
thanks for the video! your videos have been pretty nice to watch though, i would like to ask what your "love and friendship" course was about it sounds unique Comment from : Ryan Soh |

Does this branch have alot of maths like electrical engineering and which subjects were the most maths heavy ? Comment from : Omar Hassan |
Thank for going over this!!! I talked over what I wanted to do after highschool with my dad, as I'm currently in a gap year, and we came to the conclusion that mechanical engineering would be a good fit for mebrbrIts hard to find what some schools will have as courses (as I want to do community college first to knock out my core classes) and this helps a lot!!! Thank you 😊😊😊😊😊 Comment from : GoldMoonFlower |
What is lacking with Mechanical Engineers today, is the knowledge of how to design mechanisms correctly Did know that there's a mathematical formula that can be used for all mechanism designs? It's called Gruebler's Count I found a way to make it practical for all 3D mechanisms Here's the link if you are interested youtube/KFB8gMjxDPk Comment from : GrueblersCount |
