people are blaming the mom and i'm not acting like she was powerless but a huge part of the school's job is to make sure that parents know when their kids are failing if he had 272 absences/lates and failed 22 classes and the mom was never notified to how severe it would be honestly i do blame the school, she probably just didn't understand how the credits system worked and all the other kids going to that school are being set up for failure toobrbredit: there's another story coming from this same school of a student who graduated without learning to read terrible terrible school

I remember that I cheated during my Junior and Senior years It was almost time for graduation and I almost got away with it but some bozo caught me red handed and reported me to the dean for plagiarizing on some dumb English essay After a careful investigation, the deans found out that I cheated in 9 different classes including 4 classes in Junior YearConsequently, this fool removed half of my required graduation credits and I was forced to stay back for 2 more years I wasn’t even allow to take the GED because of my dishonesty This video give me some hope and makes me realize that things could be worse like stay back for 4 years and being a complete burden and failure

Let me explain something, I know she is upset; however, the school did not just fail him, but she failed him, and he failed himself As a teacher, like the administrator said, there are protocols in place to prevent the student from failing so poorly; however, she is a parent, and her first responsibility is to her children Not just providing food, lights, or shelter, but she was a student Which clearly she had forgotten what a student must do and earn cause she is pushing the blame She should have been checking his grades Did you ask for his report card; hell, did you ask him what did he learn at school that day She never monitored her own child, so you cannot blame the school alone 3 jobs--he was probably responsible for the other 2 children as well On his behalf, he failed himself because he skippppped school so much but he could not do anything except fail He was not there long enough to learn anything If he was not absent, he was late Why are you late? Here again, are you responsible or is your mother responsible for the other children Everything she said, "where is" too, it was her She is the first teacher, and she NEVER checked on her child's academic performance She merely assumed All those Fs; that is not just on the school The children and parents MUST also be held accountable I feel bad for him, but he failed himself Now as for promoting him any way knowing that he was failing academically, FIRE THE ENTIRE ADMINISTRATIVE AND GUIDANCE STAFF! The teachers said that he was absent and that he had failed to master his lessons due to his lack of attendance and effort, but the leadership did him and injustice by promoting him anyway AND if the entire school is failing, listening to the data, clean the entire school up REPLACE them all, but hold an assembly and let the students know that if the work is not completed to mastery and if they do not attend school like they are supposed to ( AND DON'T BE SURPRISED AS A PARENT--YOU HAD TO WHEN YOU WERE A CHILD) they will be retained Sorry, but those are the facts P S If any of them were SPED, prayerfully, the teachers followed their IEPs or they will have a law suit

So Baltimore doesn’t do SST meetings?! Everyone dropped the ball, promoting him is standard practice tbh especially once you reach HS But once it’s time to graduate if you’re credit deficient you won’t be eligible for graduation Truthfully his school counselor should be questioned and this is a lesson learned for mom/her son the school dropped so many balls though you may be able to advocate for him but at a cost because chances are he hasn’t accumulated the learned or lived experience he needs for higher Ed or the workforce with so few credits When it comes to school you need to be active in your child’s education, I get being stretched thin but at the very least make sure you know your parent portal log in information and check grades/attendance monthly at minimum It takes less than 5 min and if something isn’t right call who you need to call to get it right Request evaluation for an IEP in writing and get that baby the help he needs He needs to light some fire up under his but too just being honest

I would love to see her income level and see how much money she spends on enriching her children's education vs the amount she spends on self care this lady has on a decent wig and nice nails but child has a 013 GPA All that extra money these parents spend on clothes and grooming needs to be spent on tutors and learning enrichment outside of the classroom Why did your child go four years with a 013 GPA and you are crying talking about "where are the mentors" yeah ask yourself that mentors just don't show up at the door you have to pick up the phone, show up at a meeting, fill out an application line to get extra services and help for your child
