15:26 brI was in Cuba three weeks ago In the old city I felt like a walking ATM For the most part in the other parts of the city I visited I did not find the people overly friendly I did meet some nice people but not an overwhelming amount unless they were in the tourist industry I did feel very safe in Cuba I’m still trying to digest how I feel about Cuba and would I ever return

I HATED every minute of my life in Cuba where I was born, I don't find it amusing to hear foreigners being charmed by the seemingly happiness of the Cubans enduring that grotesque hell ! I have lived in USA for over 30 years and I do not miss it at all! Regular citizens in the island have reduced to subhuman beats and they smile to pretend things are better than they really are it's bizarre to hear people tourists talking about the "happiness" of the Cubans get informed!

I can think of no starker change of two economic systems separated by 90 miles of water On one side you have poverty from communists and the other side Miami and the Keys and all its excess You can debate which is happier, but you cannot deny that before the revolution Cuba was a thriving Caribbean island I am sure if you asked a Cuban and if they were honest they would chose the previous regime as opposed to communism At least they had food, bread and medical supplies

From the first 1 min I could tell you were a fellow Canadian Talking about the things they cant get or find hard and bring some stuff down My first time in Domincan at 6 years old my best memory was going to the outdoor school and handing out a bag of my hotwheels and school supplies From that point on I relized how much we take our life for granted here in Canada and many parts of the world I think visiting locals in Dominican everytime we have gone since I was young and bringing supplies down has been one of the biggest learning points of my life I like to also do whay many tourist dont usually think of doing meeting resort workers/locals and visiting their casa and familia Iam jeading to Cuba actually next week for the first time This video really helped

Cubans still have a high ethical sense of not coming across as beggars It's seen as a lowly behavior or shady They might mess with you like if they see you eating an expensive ice cream, they might be like can we have a little taste, but it's never serious, only messing with you to bring to your attention the high poverty without costing you anything but a smile Having said that, yes you can get robbed like New York or any other place on Earth But Cubans usually view tourists as a natural phenomenon

I had been to Cuba in 2019, As a Filipino, I really enjoyed their culture and hospitality I had no bad experiences in Havana and Santiago I enjoyed the food and its people I get along with some visual artists and they are great Cuba has a problem in the US that's why their economy has no progress and Cuban has been suffering for a decade I think it is about time for Cuba to fix their problem with the US Like the Philippines, Cuba is a former colony of Spain and the US I missed the town of Vedado :)

Great video that I think really captures the soulful, inspirational essence of Cuba and it's people They have had some mala suerte / bad luck recently with a hotel explosion, storm damage, refinery fire and a continued loss of income because of COVID travel restrictions but you won't hear the Cubanos complain ! I am looking forward to a revitalization of the Cuban economy with tourism coming back and hopefully the elimination of the US embargo
