Im born and raised in Orange County Its a beautiful place, full of life It has its good parts and bad parts I currently live in Rancho Palos Verdes, which is a beautiful suburb in Los Angeles County Its safe, secluded, with breathtaking views of the ocean Even so, I am happy to say I am moving back to Orange County next week lol! 😂 I can't stand being away from my family and the hustle and bustle of OC I have a newfound appreciation for my hometown and like most people have mentioned in the comments, the bad areas of OC are the decent or even nicer areas in LA 😂😅 I can drive thirty minutes into LA county for a similar feel of what I'm used to in OC when it comes to food and community and entertainment, but it is so much dirtier, smellier, and dangerous 😂 streets are so small and packed too Id rather live in Anaheim or Santa Ana where, sure, some areas are less than desirable, but I can still find good quality food and entertainment and be relatively safe 😊 ❤ Comment from : Jen Rod

Reading over some of the comments, people are taking this too personal I live in Newport Beach and Santa Ana is bad for Orange County, not ubiquitous for CA Yes, there are parts of LA that rea worse; however, they have cleaned up much of South Central where I partially grew up This looks like South central, a far cry from Southern Orange County beginning with Irvine and proceeding south The moderator did clearly say it was not bad, but it is bad for Orange County and he is absolutely correct I do find it difficult to believe the average home prices are that high in Santa Ana at over $600k I think perhaps $350-$400k is closer to being accurate The northern part of Orange County like, you mentioned, experiences the majority of the crime and they also tend to vote Democratic Comment from : Kwann P

One thing I can say for the OC is that they have a much lower tolerance for crime than LA County They would never vote for a DA like Gascon, who is a disaster It's not because the OC is some far right fortress guarded by Marines, but rather that they simply don't attract the same kind of residents In LA you're more likely to find wishy washy Hollywood types who like to brag how many degrees of separation they have from the star of the day Yeah, this may be a bit of an exaggeration, but it captures the vibe of LA The OC is more likely to attract nose to the grindstone immigrants from Greece, Vietnam, Lebanon, and WASPy exemplars of the Protestant Work ethic, including Mormons Not to say the OC is unfriendly, but it's much more a get-off-my-lawn kind of place that LA I may even consider moving back Just not to Orange Maybe Newport Comment from : Angus Orvid
