This video hasn’t aged well, in a time when used cars are as expensive as new ones and buying a $6000 cash car (something that would’ve been feasible for a young person to save up for five years ago) will buy you a lemon, a gas guzzler, or both The issue of cars and car payments runs deeper than poor financial decisions It’s the fact that we live in a carcentric society, where everything is so spread out and walkability in most major US cities is so bad that not having a car can be out right dangerous (looking at you stroads) It’s a conniving, yet brilliant business model Gotta love ‘Merica

This is outrageous My husband and I combined make roughly $10k per month and even WE would never agree to such insanity It's now 2022 and we still drive our 2015 Nissan Xterra! The lender that this kid got his auto loan through is clearly VERY predatory Do they not even LOOK at debt to income ratio when approving these loans??? If he was only making about $2k per month working only 20 hours per week at the time he bought this vehicle, there is absolutely NO WAY that auto loan should have EVER been approved They should have come back and said, "Sorry, kid, but you have to start looking at much less expensive vehicles," or they should have flat out denied his loan for lack of adequate income This is disgusting
