I've always felt this way The Japanese in anime is voice acted, so it tends to be more dramatic, and anime does use some language that isn't applicable to a modern day conversation At the end of the day though, it's still Japanese I've never heard someone talk like Timmy Turner Even in superhero cartoons that portray more realistic human characters It's scripted, it's acting So long as you understand those distinctions, and also observe how Japanese people speak in daily conversations, anime works wonderfully as a learning tool

Thats exactly how I started learning Japanese, I watched anime for more than 10 years but I didn't start to focus on the language until 4-years ago so when I started learning Japanese a year ago I felt that I already had a head start, I knew most of the words so I started with the writing, I stopped shortly after because I didn't have much time but after I graduate I will definitely try again, its a beautiful language

I always wanted to learn Japanese but never had the courage I've been learning for 2 months now Hiragana and katakana are easy to learn but I have problems with kanji So far I can only understand individual words in sentences Finding it difficult so far If I can do better, I want to look for a language partner I definitely won't give up 😁🇯🇵

I don’t think it’s too bad, although I learned for the music and whenever I would hear music, I would hear words similar to words that I already know, and I end up, actually knowing what it means without even doing research on the word, so that’s nice Of course I’ll look it up first before I can confirm🤓because all words have structure but your not gonna know just by watching maybe context of what’s going on

Its like learning from video games or cartoons The unrealistic part is the acting The voice actors have to pretend theyre in the wild world of their cartoon, so they use the language a bit different than real people, but you can still understand what theyre talking about

Too bad that he didn't consider the fact that Japanese has a deep hierarchical grammar important to remember so you don't appear disrespectful (don't know how to explain it better in fewer words but bare with me):brWhere in anime "sorry" is quickly expressed as "gomen" (ごめん) because the usual stuff is between groups of friends and shit, there are multiple variations of "sorry", "sumimasen" being a more formal one, also used to ask for a waiter somethingbrbrNo, watching anime is not a perfect way to learn Japanese as is learning English by playing videogames, it really helps with learning words though, can confirm it myself after learning most of the English words with YouTube as the Italian community wasn't of my likingbrbrLearning a new language with a media like series, cartoons, videogames is nice but following it up with grammatical and lexical lessons on YT or other platforms goes a long way
