I'm considering going MX citizen by marriage but it has completely changed in the past 10 years I must take the test now And it's in Spanish, which my Spanish is not quite as good as what's necessary So being a "perm res" is sufficient until I learn my Spanish and learn test material brbrI'm an American citizen, an Italian citizen (Jure Sanguinis) and soon maybe 2 years I'll be a Mexican citizen too I've spoken with all the immigration offices of all 3 countries and there are no restrictions on my keeping all 3 citizenships imposed by any of the three countries I'll be a citizen of, once I add Mexico to the listbrbrLooking forward to being able to own land in the "restricted zone" But that's not my goal My goal is, if I die, to leave my considerably younger wife with citizenship in 3 countries and the financial ability to enjoy all 3 countries And to enjoy all 3 as citizen, myself brbrPaul this (your) info is the best on YouTube Keep it coming Comment from : Mexico Adventurer |

Paul brI am sure you have covered this but is there a distinction between temp and permanent residency as relates to taxes o world wide income ? My understanding is that these are visas only and do not constitute “tax residency “ That is a separate test based on time in Mexico, center of financial interest etc brMany sites say temp residents do not pay but permanent do I think they are confusing visas with tax residency Comment from : loren linck |

Perpetual tourists: taking advantage of people that actually pay taxes and have a way lower wage than yours Comment from : Dan Guido |
I hope they change their policy on giving tourists less than the 180 days at a time For some people like myself, residency is out of the question due to financial requirements I'm well under the monthly income requirement, and saving enough money to meet the resource requirement is a major obstacle as well I do bring in enough money to live well in Mexico, just not enough to meet the income requirement There are many who fall into the same category, so I would think Mexico is cheating themselves out of a lot of dollars The money I would be spending in Mexico is going into the US economy instead Just my measly amount alone is insignificant, but the money from thousands of people who find themselves in the same category I'm in adds up n a hurry Hopefully they'll see their mistake and reconsider Comment from : Greg Wunschel |

Things are changing in Mexico for foreigners almost month by month The inconsistencies right now are more major than many are giving light to The first being for general tourists arriving at almost all Mexican airports and without guidance or warning being giving an exact number of days based on how long you tell them “you plan” to stay Mexican law provides authorities punishment by jail for not abiding by this if you cannot provide your tourist card This is quite a major deal that is a brand new practice and is absolutely not forthright or warned with foreign visitors when entering - neither by their departing country nor Mexico This is just the tip of the iceberg I was planning to move to Mexico like many watching these “let’s live the good life for cheap in paradise” desire I can attest that every country has their laws and adjustments but as this video does point out, Mexico is VERY inconsistent Unfortunately, the current policies are not transparent This creates for a huge vulnerability for tourists, foreign residents etc Everyone just needs to really really understand Mexican law and abide by it more than ever right now Comment from : Jgoodygoods |
