Well, here is my experience with both of them First off, they both suck! DirecTV was amazing, the remote was perfect, storage was perfect for what I needed, customer service? Excellent! If it was raining? No problem! We lost picture for a few seconds, and it was back Easy to use and the programs I wantedbrNow, why do I say it sucks? Because I can stream and watch anything I want to watch, any time of the day, on any device, on any TV FOR FREE!!brNow, on to Dish My roommate has dish and i have one of their pathetic, USELESS boxes, hooked up to one of the inputs on my TV These guys are total shit It is the complete opposite of DirecTV The remote control is a non functional, absolute JOKE! Voice control does not ever work EVER! Programs suck, the channel guide is like a blind person created it, if someone is smoking a cigarette down the street and the smoke goes across the dish no signalbrAnd, the absolute WORST PART, if my roommate does something like change the channel or record something or schedule an event on her box, MINE DOES THE SAME FUCKING THING!!!! In the middle of me watching something! And it's impossible to just simply go back to what i was watching, because I'm at the mercy of what SHE IS DOING! The brain dead idiots at dish told me this was normalDISH FUCKING SUCKS!brAnd, finally, don't bother with satellite TV OR CABLE, today's TV shows will rot your brain They are talentless brain dead shit for brains crapbrStream what you want or get it on DVD and Blu-ray before that's discontinued I bought several CD, DVD and Blu-ray players, before they quit making them

On Dish you can have 2 hoppers on your account You can have them both in the house or 1 in the house and 1 in the RV But with Directv you only get 1 Geni so if you want a DVR in the RV your screwed

MY WARNING TO PEOPLE NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH DISH!!!! THEY FIRST SENT ME THE WRONG RECEIVER (it only recorded 3 shows at a time I was supposed to get the better receiver with the package, and they wanted to charge extra for the receiver I was supposed to get in the first place), THE SERVICE WAS TERRIBLE ( it would freeze up, reset constantly, the images would pixalate, customer service was terrible, extremely long hold times, constant exhausting sales pitches ) When I finnaly canceled my service, Dish network took a disconnect fee from my bank account that was unauthorized I switched to Spectrum they will buyout your dish contract They send you boxes to return your recievers, but they charged me for the recievers before I even received the boxes to return them, and the also took money from my bank account for that I disputed these changes it's taking months to resolve this

I’m with direct tv I can’t wait for the contract to be over !!!! A cloud with a little rain knocks it completely off air ! They promised me my bill was the same for a two year contract ! They lied 🤥 and I call them every three to six month and go through An hour of talking to get the price down For a month ! For most people, most people whom get satellite tv is due to that is their ONLY Option I live in suburbs in PA and have Directv, but Not because the service is good or I wanted it, but no cable option available The biggest issue with Satellite TV is if there are clouds, the service is affected Also since AT&T took over the service has been horrible I also do not like I do not have more control of what channels I can remove and add I prefer to not to even see the channels I KNOW I do not like watching and only show stations that I view regularly So not enough customer control Another big issue with Directv Genie is it does record properly I set it to record "First Run Only" yet it is ALWAYS recording a show that has played before That gets annoying FYI I do not watch sports anymore so that is not a selling point for me

No real comparision of the real costs, ie extra tvs, different packages, etc etc And what about the number of tuners in each companies' DVR? No mention And your new "expert" only chose Direct because of one thing, the NFL package which cost extra and no mention of that price either The water boy from any middle school team in America could have given a more thorough review That was 8 minutes of my life I can never recover

Dish Network is the most incompetent company I have ever dealt with After being told by on-line experts that they could solve the problem (and never could) I made the mistake of having a Dish man come out BIG MISTAKE I just wanted to know if I could save my old Hopper programs to the new one The first Dish man assured me it was possible, but he didn't have the right cord The second Dish Representative dropped off the cord No 3 was supposed to bring my new Hopper, but when he got here he looked around and asked if he was supposed to be fixing something, and when I told him he was supposed to be installing my new working hopper, he apologized because no one told him that and he didn't have a hopper with him BUT the CLASSIC was no four, who told me he knew how to use the cord to keep my previously recorded programs FOUR MINUTES LATER he managed to blow out the electricity in my house; NO A/C, NO FAN, NO LIGHTS AND NO TV He couldn't figure out to fix it so he split, because "he was late for another appointment" I had to call in my own electrician, who had some time figuring out what the Dish guy had donebrIN CONCLUSION, I had to pay the electrician, I never received an apology from Dish or an offer to pay the electric bill (which a responsible company would do), AND they keep sending me a bill for that last visit, which I'll pay just to get rid of them IF YOU SIGN UP WITH DISH, YOU'VE BEEN WARNED

Just switched back to Dish Network Direct TV is horrible Too many complaints to mention all, but my number complaint is their channel lineup in their guide Why they put a dozen pages of on demand movies in the middle of your channel lineup that you have to scroll through constantly is stupid They should take the guy that had that idea, stand him up in the middle of the room, and let everyone take turns kicking him in the nuts! If you’re coming here in 2020, this information is outdated dish wise AT&T is leaving their satellite tv customers behind Dish on the other hand, new satellite, 4K quality, fixed price per month, Premiere DVR system (7x more powerful and reliable than Direct Tvs), many more features for example, voice control, remote finder, 2tb storage space (2000 hours), you can record 16 live shows at once, Dish can pay for contract fees up to 12 months if you’re in a contract Best technicians, and once your two year is up dish will call you and negotiate a price If you have questions about switching and are confused reply to my comment

I was a DirecTV customer for 4 years I've had Dish for the past 3 yearsbrbrbr- DTV has a much better picture quality, so much better than Dishbr- Dish's Hopper 3 and Joey system is better than DTVbr- Dish has the PAC12 network, DTV does notbr- Dish lost HBO and Fox Regional Sports and it doesn't look like they are getting them back brbrbrSo I'm likely going to move back to DirecTV this spring when baseball starts back up because DISH lost Fox Sports The channel contracting is really disappointing because they both let the contract run down to the last minute and the customer ends up losingbrbrbrOne other thing, you can attach an external SATA drive to the DirecTV Genie to extend the recording space (they didn't mention this in the YouTube video)

Actually, you’re very wrong about the price Over the course of two years, DIRECTV prices are much more expensive than Dish prices On an average a customers end up spending $300 a year more for DIRECTV Considering that DIRECTV just raised their prices on their promotional packages by $2499 a month, they have now really out price themselves! So that doubling in price during the second year is going to be even more of an increase!

DISH offers NFL Redzone, as do most competitors, and it runs in a package for $1300/month (which adds up to be $156/ year – or- $6500/season; significantly lower) Lastly, DISH focuses WAY more on college athletics DISH is the only provider that guarantees ALL Division 1 NCAA football games There is no contest; whether you like sports or not, DISH still has the advantage
