It's crazy to say but alot of youth in the juvenile system have I would say "juvenile moms" 💯 they cared for you like a mom always spoke to you from the heart,the last day is heartbreaking but a good thing for both 💯

But Can they be truly rehabilitated? I’ve often wondered, if I had the resources to give a kid like this an opportunity to change his life, would he be willing and enthusiastic to succeed? Like that Eddie Murphy movie, Trading Places Pick a troubled young man with the intelligence to succeed but a history of of negative actions and bad decisions Give him everything he needs to succeed and help him with every step along the path and see if I could take just one person who was destined for a life of despair and help him attain a life of prosperity, responsibility, happiness and respect That would be an amazing thing to succeed at!

After getting a masters in criminal justice, I became a juvenile probation officer, and not only did I leave after 6 months, I left the field and went into teaching school People who commit crimes as juveniles typically have the most awful, tragic, depressing life stories of any citizens on the planet Their circumstances almost leave them frozen in time as a child, and they never seem to mature or improve their decision making skills throughout life No sane person would want to show up to work and hear those stories every day, knowing that the most you are going to be able to really do to help them is have them locked up States are not truly set up to rehabilitate juveniles

I've been thru the juvenile system from jails to residential centers and briefly to adult county facilities all the system does is make you worse With exception of the residential placement there was zero rehabilitation or programs America isn't built to rehabilitate they just are there to punish
