I believe that it's not really the teachers fault I once had this teacher who really hated the education system but really had no choice but to follow the school circularium for the sake of his job The real problem with school is that kids aren't taught enough of what will help them in life Sure music is great for critical thinking but learning business and economics is something that should be priotrised

To be honest, I'm an immigrant from Iran and I came to the US at age 6 Even though I could not speak any English when I first came to the US, in the first grade of school, we watched a movie almost every week and I was good at speaking English by the second grade I barely learned anything from school honestly They just teach me worthless things that I will never use again in the future

On a 7-8 hours every weekday I only have 2 hours I enjoy Math, Recess/Field, and Lunch which means I have 6 hours of hell

I remember in my last year of school I panicked because I was so used to being told exactly what to do and when, and I had no idea what I'd be doing the next year I had no plan until I was accepted to the next school to be told what to do Oo to this day that really stuck with me that I was totally unprepared for the real world

This is a great video and as a student ambassador some key points i've learnt are:br- despite our wold is changing really fast, school isn't br-the modern world values people who can communicate thier ideas, be creative and collaborate with others yet in school we are told to be quiet during class time and not talkbr -when you grow older, you need to manage your own time but at school we have no control and are told what to do this won't help us grow and just follow what we are told to dobr-seating plan should be based on how good you are at the subject brHowever I need solutions, complaining about it will only bring it to light but with no solution I can't do anything So if anybody has ideas please comment for a better generation

fr at school, there was a rule when if your phone was caught later throughout the day, they would call your parents and make them miss their paycheck to come and get it I get it, phones are not allowed but you shouldn’t call the parents for petty reasons and make them miss work like wtf and plus my dad called me “ungrateful” for complaining about an outdated school system

I want to have a stable career in the future and learn and as much as I can prior to that But currently, I have found myself bored in the course I'm taking It is much harder to take it seriously than to answer exams without studying brAs per my perspective, most of what we learn in school is common sense Students go to school or at least parents let their children go since they don't have any reliable system to teach their kids They just basically refuse to contemplate on their kids' whole being We've come to the point in history where youngsters don't even ask themselves why exactly they go to schoolbrAlthough I don't want to discredit schools for the learnings they instilled me, and I do wish to let them continue existing, I think that there must really be a change in the system

I can appreciate the conspiracy theory that states schools were designed to turn out workers However there was a time not too long ago when our school systems were superior to what they are right now What happened has nothing to do with the perugian system you cite at number one If you go back to the '90s you would see that that is when some serious changes began to happen By the 2010s the majority of critical thinking classes, debate classes and teams, philosophy classes, they no longer exist in public schools When they started pulling all those classes is when it finally truly became about making robots out of humans All the critical thinking sources of education that used to be in the public school system are now gone But it was only in the '90s when we still had all that stuff We would still get humanities courses and critical thinking as I mentioned ETC ETC not anymore And people think people to get straight A's in school are so smart I'm here to tell you not necessarily Most of those people are what you would call book smart which isn't really a form of intelligence lol

I can relate so much to the "no room for passion" thing I wanted to be a physicist, and the height of my physics learning by 6th grade is newton's 3 laws of motion and gravity From school I learned so much more physics from kurzgezats (Probs didn't spell that right Speaking of, is that their voice actor?)

As an American, my high school junior year English teacher might be the only teacher I can remember who was able to lecture effectively He allowed us to control most of the conversation, as well as introduce our own topics and perspectives And I still remember all of the fun tangents we sometimes explored I remember having to discuss the question of whether money could buy happiness, and I brought up that the question has a flaw, in that it could be asking whether exchanging money for items brings happiness, or whether just having money in itself brings happiness (Everybody likes large sums of money in their bank accounts, but when they buy items that might make them happy, that sum diminishes by some amount)
