At one time I only used water with the acrylics After the 6th layer of paint The layers lifted off down to the white of the canvas Water without solvents actually dissolves the medium that holds the paints together So the paint wont adhere well to the surface I now use slow dry Medium and gloss or matt medium Or other medium

Do you have an opinion the Artist Loft canvas? (The value ones, level zero) they are very cheap so I thought I can buy those for my first attempts at acrylic painting but if the quality is very lacking, I rather just buy some better ones

I have been painting with watercolor & gouache for years, but am wanting to add acrylic to my repertoire I do have several sta-wet palettes which I do like, but the question I have regards paint choices I only purchase professional quality paints in my other mediums - but artist quality acrylic paints come in a variety of formulas (Ie - Heavy Body, Fluid, Open, Interactive, and now even Acrylic Gouache; which is basically a matte opaque acrylic I mostly paint landscapes and do not like a "glossy/plastic" surface on my finished art Your thoughts please?

I want to start drawing/painting again Never have with acrylics, only water colors But I want to start Sadly, I think I forgot everything I used to know of what I learned in school about drawing and painting If you told me to draw some of the very simplest things, I feel like I wouldn’t even know anymore which brushes and which techniques to use for painting (which angles etc for drawing) But maybe soon I can get started again

Not a good idea to point the camera into the sun (contra joure lighting) It washes out the color in the video and causes 'flare' (the circles of color) on the screen, all of which is distracting to the eye Photography tips for a painter :)

I’m new to painting, I started out with watercolor and now I’m exploring acrylics I haven’t used a canvas yet only my sketch book which is a mixed media I found it difficult to spread the paint out and it dried very quickly on the page Should I not use the sketch book or is there something in doing wrong? Also, I don’t add water to my paint Is that something you should do? I’m quite naïve about painting 😂
