Seriously so true, for years have seen many top school top consulting folks being wordy to sound cool and intelligent If you are concise and straight to the point you’re “advised” to elaborate or they call you cryptic

"for all intent and purposes" is necessary because freedom of speech is only allowed if it has to do with government stating "for all intent and purposes" allow us to acknowledge that it goes further than just the government and we should be able to have freedom of speech in all forms of life

Hello Lisa, thanks for providing us with accurate english lexis and native accent you're doing great job for us, non-native leaning english what you're doing is really helpful So, congratulations It's only yesterday, I discovered your chanel and I give you my word, I won't quit untill I become fluent like a native speaker
Comment from : KIRIOUA JEAN - MARIUS TANO

KayKay
I'm a Spanish Interpreter, I hear people say so many unnecessary words every day, this is so common We are trained to translate meaning per meaning instead of word by word, so when either in English or Spanish words are fillers, many times our message could be translated in just a few words, it's funny how different a concise message would sound like
Comment from : KayKay

Maxmin Max
In my opinion, verbose people don't have enough precise vocabulary
Comment from : Maxmin Max

WZ Gomez
"I kinda like this lesson!!!" 😉My nieces drive me crazy with these words in every sentence they speak I had a ex boyfriend who used the word "basically" a lot!! Because his second language was english, I asked him onceIf you were speaking Spanish to me, would you use "basicamente" that many times in your conversation? It got him thinking and he gradually stopped 😂this was 20yrs ago and now looking back I feel I could have been nicer
Comment from : WZ Gomez

Rotor Blade
8:05 this example doesn’t seem right to me “he was kind of like: what are you going to do?” I understand he didn’t actually ask anything, he probably only had a confused face expression as if he was asking himself that question
Comment from : Rotor Blade

Rotor Blade
lol, that’s exactly the opposite of what I was told, moreover there were some test where being verbose you would score more points Honestly, I don’t know what to say Now, I sort of dislike spitting out words for no reason, so maybe that works for me
Comment from : Rotor Blade

Miguel angel Perez
Hey Lisa ! Thanks ! I’ve been preparing myself for a job interview and your videos are always helpful When it comes to imitate someone , I have J Peterson, the famous Canadian psychologist, as a model, he’s always using many clever words and phrases in his speeches but now I realized it could be a little bit verbose , which at the very beginning for a foreign learner is not necessarily bad brHave a nice one 😊
Comment from : Miguel angel Perez

Tanushree Bishoi
In India -' Like' and 'you know ' are the official filler words😂😂 teens and youth always use it

Rocio Wischsan
The communication should be customized to the listener/reader’s style to be effective To achieve this, it’s required that the communicator has high emotional intelligence
Comment from : Rocio Wischsan

Visualspatial
In my profession we use occasional disclaimers to reduce the listener's defenses, thereby increasing connection and understanding One size does not fit all in the real world
Comment from : Visualspatial

Mike Geld
What's with the ear piece? Are you expecting a call? You look unprofessional, is it really needed ? Do you see the irony here re; the content in this video?
Comment from : Mike Geld

Wendy Li
Great video! One of the reason me being wordy is there was minimum word court requirement in English/Chinese writing exams in HK Students used filler words to meet that requirement
