If you can take your eyes off the lovely Una for a second, not only will you see the lion staring you out (gulp) but you will notice the small EIC (East India Company) mintmark at the bottom of the field Una seems to be everywhere whether it’s the Royal Mint, Alderney, St Helena or even Hattons of London who had exclusivity to Alderney 24 carat gold Una’s from 5 ounces right down to quarter sovereigns The Hattons versions all bear the coin description below Una (Fifty pounds, Twenty, Five, Double Sov, Sovereign, Half and Quarter Sov) instead of a year date in Roman numerals The year date is just the standard engraved 2019 year date (not Roman numerals) and is on the obverse side of the coin below The Queen Comment from : Good As Gold |
