Main switch on the consumer unit is an isolator and not a disconnect Therefore it isn't designed to be turned off under load This is basic safe isolation NAUGHTY,NAUGHTY! turn off all MCBs etc first Comment from : Alan Walton |
Why much noise Comment from : Kevin Mukabwa |
What kind of expert are you that you obscure the fuse board by sticking a label over the switches? You've got to be kidding! This is the kind of problem that I find with workmen, they simply don't check their work or they just want to get it done as fast as possible, hence they have to return to complete it Up to that point, you did so well Comment from : Maxi Mc |

No torque setting screwdriver ! Comment from : henry twigger |

20 minutes video about 5 minutes work, best thing for me was you marking each cables to avoid confusion Your video reminded me of the guy who trained me to always drag out a 5-minute job for hours Jesus the days were long and slow Lol Thank you Comment from : Peter Van Kas |

so if i have 16mm without the collars does this mean i can shove some wire up inside the holder and wire and jumper from 1 to 4 and 2 to 3 to by-pass the meter and get free electricity ?bri gather the larger current will go via the main feed in and out but some will go via the by-pass links in effect using less 'paid for' electric ?? Comment from : bigpimp347 |

One of the first things I was taught was never to use a screwdriver on something held in the palm of your hand because one day it will slip and go through your hand Comment from : tartanspy |

I find these videos so hilarious Like yes, I get the huge thick insulated gloves, shoes, face shield etc But come on, realistically who does that? I would be laughed off a site - especially domestic sites, if I arrived like a space man for a simple task I have done this countless times, iv even (god forbid) worked on live switches Yet here I am, still alive and typing cheeky comments on YouTube 😉 Comment from : Craig Duncan |
“Confirm there is not any huge magnet or wires hanging in terminal blocks, other other indications such as- the oven being on at full power, along with lighting and electric ring main circuits, yet the disc remains stationary” I find that ones a sure ringer Hehehe Comment from : Craig Duncan |
And were is the proving unit and gs38 test leads Bad isolation also the sticker can NOT go on the CU as it don't belong to the dno also it is likely to be changed southern power work uniform bet he feels so clever in that am sending them this link Every spark that has seen this thinks it is a piss take Comment from : alun roberts |
Why the gloves it is dead no fuse in Comment from : alun roberts |

You at 4:20 Broke rule number one NEVER just flip the main switch off or on isolate each fuse MCB 1st also wrong test lead type no proving unit to re check voltage tester Also it don't stick to front of the CU as any thing after the meter is not the property of the DNO And what if the CU is ever upgraded Comment from : alun roberts |
That plug in dose NOT show correct polarity as it can NOT tell the difference between earth and neutral Only tell you live phase is were it should be as on a TN-C-S the earthing and neutral are linked at the income Comment from : alun roberts |

what are the advantages of these new meters compared to the old one? Thanks Comment from : Jamie Avis |

Switch of mcb's before isolating the main switch, should be switched off load Comment from : Artem Lobov |
You didnt check the tightness of the incoming live terminal !? Comment from : Robert Small |
The new meter was not level brbrA spirit level type 482/B conforming to EU regulations must be used In case you break the spirit level, form 348A/76a MUST be filled in and a respirator conforming to BS 6778765555 used to avoid inhaling the alcohol fumesbrbrbrAlso, the music is too loudbr Comment from : DrQuadrivium |
Thank you,,but how about if you need to replace the consumer unit?was better had isolator between the meter and CU? Comment from : Aza Jakal |
I’m really worried about how tight to go with electric terminals on meters We are told tight until you can’t get another turn but that all depends on different strengths For some they can be too tight and damage the copper wire How tight is too tight? Comment from : David King |
excellent stuff Comment from : onefootskenk77 |
