🌹💙 I have a couple important questions, any advice would be greatly appreciated: (1) Is it true that as long as you stay below the monthly trigger amount ($970 as of this video), and/or don’t exceed eight trigger months, you’re allowed a 60 month trial period? (2) During ticket to work, would taking a community college class to become employable count as SGA? Would the same class “online” be safer so as not to trigger SGA? I know everyone’s situation is different, but even a general idea would help Thank you kindly 🙏 Comment from : MojaveDaemonWitch |

The amount now is $1,470, not $900 and whatever You can make more than that for 9 months, (not necessarily 9 months in a row) I had a conversation with the SS office about this Comment from : cheryl lakin |

I haven't wanted to be on disability for a long time I'm only 41 but I had back surgery because of my disc in my back and they wanted me to do a spinal fusion back in 2018 but I worked in medical field before I became a truck driver and my mom was a nurse also so I knew that was not a good idea and so I put it off but it got to the point where my nerves were pinched for so long I started losing my balance and I couldn't put it off anymore so what I did instead of spinal fusion is to laminectomy which is what they did was scrape some of the bone spurs off that were pinching my nerves but I still have not yet to get strength back in my legs and I'm now starting to have issues with my arms I have no strength in them Comment from : Big Rig Christ follower |

I have a severance payment for a remainder of 55 weeks or so, question do I have to report the earnings while I’m on SSID? Or do I just wait till the end of the year and claim it as income and pay the taxes? As mentioned, this will end in January of 2024 Comment from : Michele Libbrecht |

Brian, I had three strokes in 2016 and I totally don't understand why the government wants to punish people on disability for making that's more than what's expected I mean if people can work a want to work where ever they want why does the government pubish the individual and take their benefits away Or give you a limit on how much to make before they stop your benefits?? This may be Potentially an odd case, What happens if a person on SSDI – age 63 — I think their retirement is at 67 – – and they have accepted employment income over the level allowed—- Since they are so close to full retirement — will the same rules still apply — - And what if they max out the nine months – - or Unable to continue working before retirement as a result of illness will, they need to get an attorney to have their benefits resumed?brWith ageism so prevalent, it would be difficult for a 66 year old to obtain employment br*note, the individual is under continued medical care And, hopes to continue employment after retirement dateline Comment from : What If? |

Will my monthly SSDi benefits be reduced if I get a Workers Comp award for 7 or 8 K? Many people get much larger awards and according to what I read a 100,000 award would only be a reduction of about 200 a month I was hoping this means I'm in the clear Comment from : AJ Steele |

I understand that you can engage in income that you don't have control over no matter the amount Ex: Sales as a business E-commerce website Sometimes You make a sale and sometimes you don't Some months may be $5000 and some months may be $000 Correct me if I am wrong I believe where you get in trouble is gainful employment That's the VA disability term My annual income is about $50,000, but I can make more money as long as it is not a full time job I can work a full time job as long as I stay below the poverty level according to the US poverty guide lines ASPE, which is about an extra $48,000 in the State of North Carolina that is in a household of 8 people Which is in my case my wife and I that's 2, my 3 children, 1 son-in-law, 2 grand children I have a degree in Supply Chain management which is the same as my MOS The salary starts at $86,000 and goes up to $142,000 I would literally have to take one doozy of a pay cut to about $45,000 as an annual salary Which I would not mind seeing that it is extra income anyway and still get the same income that it pays With the VA our disability goes up every year anyway Comment from : Larry Darnell Crowder |
|
Do you have any advice for someone on ssi? My bills are $1300 a month and I only get $841 in Georgia I have congestive heart failure(at times really bad fluid on lungs and intestines) and back/spinal issues on top of scoliosis I was homeless I got Georgia rental assistance but it was only for 3 months before recertification I need some type of income but I am scared of losing my $841 ssi, plus my back limits my mobility Am I screwed and should I just accept homelessness again? Comment from : Robert Trout |

The big problem with earning any money on disability is that you put yourself on an expedited evaluation schedule This means being reevaluated more frequently than normal and subject to more scrutiny and harsher standards Comment from : CNC295 |
|
Hi Brian great work and your a wonderful help even though your right you can earn 970 and under and work 20 hours and under and it’s totally legal however working at any level can muddy the water if your on disability remember if someone works they are notifying Social Security it’s great when one is honest and showing they have nothing to hide however Social Security will bookmark that you are working thus making you a prime candidate for a CDR as doing the Ticket to Work program is a double edge sword because they will see it if you can work 20 hour’s a week you probably can work 20 more and try to bump you off the program it’s totally within your rights to work a little but can be a tight wire walk Comment from : fitfighter |
