Let's considerbrLawn at rental properties, especially single family homesbrbrI've rented out single family homes since 1986 Usually, I've included lease provisions that required the tenant to maintain the lawn sometimes they did, sometimes they didn't, and often the job was done poorlybrvisiting one of my properties and there really was no lawn visible The grounds were dominated by huge weeds six feet tall!brbrThat was the worstbrbrBut often even tenants who made an effort lacked the equipment and skill to do much of a jobbrbrIn recent years, I've taken to doing the mowing myself I typically mow every second week during the growing season, and less often during Seattle's seasonal drought during the summer, when the grass goes dormant for lack of water brbrThat way, things get done to MY satisfaction My standards aren't highbrbrThe past ten years I've been using a Craftsman rear wheel drive self propelled mower with a Briggs engine built in 7/99 I found that for free many years ago, and am happy to do my own repairs and maintenance on it I just finished replacing the self propel drive belt, for example I'm pretty good at Quantum engine repairs now, and have a reasonable supply of parts on handbrbrMy repairs aren't of high quality --- I recently bypassed the blade break and shutoff in favor of a switch that grounds out the power from the magneto But I enjoy making a mower function that is 1/4 of a century old, and I recently found a Toro Recycler, Personal Pace mower that I picked up for free and will get working when I have the time ----as the SPARE mower, I'm imagining! brbrAnd, by and large, I LIKE mowing and I like doing mower repairs! Just purchased a home with roughly 6 acres of grass I have a zero turn 62 inch that covers all but about an acre The 1 acre has a Lotta trees and it can be wet more than the other grass so when I drive my zeroturn on it it just tears, the grass with the turning in back-and-forth, etc been mowing it with my Toro, 21 inch love the cut after, but boy it takes forever Would you happen to have any recommendations like the Toro timemaster a good option Any suggestions would be helpful thank you Comment from : Jeff Newell

As someone who mows lawns semi-commercially, a 22 inch mower is more than sufficient to get the job done My own has a 161cc briggs DOV engine on it and gets a minimum of 10 hours of use put on it every week It bags and mulches and also rear discharges which just works better for me There's a lot to be said for having a nice mower in that sense On the other hand i have a home made brute of a mower for knocking tall grass 18 inch blade and 206cc It just does its job Both machines have their place Comment from : Alex Hickey

That’s what I want to get FW-15brI have brEGO 21 inches brI have the new ones 75 amp battery 🔋 brIt never bugged or having issues not cut or stop the mower:) has plenty power :) only I have couple problems :( br1 The mower is too lite :( br2 the mower is too small :( br3 A problem with the batteries it freezes or won’t charge and won’t last that long with 75 A only 5000 ft² yards you can cut:( if you have Beautiful grass if not you can mow 7,000sqf yard:) br4 I have fescue grass I cut like 45 inches :) and when I cut the grass front wheels Digs or pushing the grass in and on second day that grass raise up and you can see the stripes tall :( br5 The mower it’s sow light one pass can float on top of the grass second pass can go down with the same settings you can see the difference :( br6 The mower is so tiny I have 1600 square-foot yard it’s taking me 15 hour to finish with one pass if I’m doing double pass takes over two hours :( and you have to do a double pass because of those stripes :( because of the tiny wheels digs that grass in :( and it doesn’t have an enough suction to suck the grass back out with the blades :( br7 Not enough RPMs or not enough vacuum to lift the grass up from the ground :( br8 The bottoms for self propel the mower it’s too tiny and end of the cutting your yard you have hands Sort they’re too tiny and you have to squeeze your hands tight :( brEGO Mower they need to fix dthese issues :( Comment from : MGP - BCT
