when you actually get there they will knock a lot more off i took my 21 plate peugeot 2008gt auto there 2 days ago, and to cut a long story short they knocked off £345 for a pin head size chip and a scuff that wasnt there He was clutching at straws as he even got on his knees looking at sills Needless to say i just laughed and drove off Comment from : david adams |
it's so atrocious what they offer it's just ripping people who don't know better off it should be shut down Comment from : AdamMattz |
Also the car has to be on your name for at least 4 months otherwise they won’t buy it Comment from : Max |
You are comparing selling to an end user compared with selling to a trader Captain Obvious says you will get much more Comment from : Finbarr Saunders |
The offer is based on an immaculate car with full service history Comment from : ezz |
It costs a lot to advertise on the telly and pay Scofields commission Comment from : John F |
I also was told by an independant trader , WBAC put the cars through BCA because they are owned by the same company Comment from : david ormes |
Rip off Comment from : John Lundy |
I took a perfect 3 series BMW to them Fair enough they are running a business, but what seemed to be a 16 year old girl knocked £1,100 off the online price Told her no thanks, or words to that effect Comment from : William Tomkinson |
couple of years ago i was offered £3500 for my car------ i put it on e-bay and sold it within 2 days for £5000, Comment from : alan derbyshire |
We buy any car once offered me £57 for a car, minus their £4999 admin fee so £701 would have been in my pocket And I would have had to drive it 20 miles to take it there and find my own way back Lol 😂😂 Comment from : Sammy TheSeal |
WBAC in reality only want newer cars they are no different from any dealership take your old car anywhere and if you are lucky maybe get scrap value selling private will always be moreWBAC just take advantage of people’s laziness Comment from : Suzy lawrence |
These clowns quoted me £50 for a 2000 plate defender…sold it two weeks later for £15k…absolutely disgusting Comment from : Nigel Stainforth |
Honest to God I have got better trade in values at a Dealer when buying a newer vehicle from them which is contradictory to their adverts The Dealer didn't care that much for the finite condition of the vehicle; they just wanted a more up to date MOT Comment from : Qwertycritical |
I got a quote from them for my 2012 Vauxhall Combo L2 van with just 60k, full service history and a new MOT £1000??? Sold it for £ 5500 Comment from : Gareth Judd |
I had a Mercedes SLK and they more than halved the price quoted I realise they’re in business to make money but they are out and out rip off merchants Comment from : MOLYN867 |
WBAC offered me £1,275 on line for my Audi TT 225 bhp 2002 That dropped to £28500 in the flesh I would never use them again Comment from : john lee |
No surprise what so ever got offer of 275 for my fiat punto 19 jtd orange limited edition with black wheels roof and bonnet only had 62 k on clock 140 bhp on an 08 plate with mot and service history sold it privately for 1250 we buy also charge a buyers fee of around 75 pounds they are total rip off merchants would never go to them no matter how desperate i needed the money selling privately is always better Comment from : Andrew moffatt |
I'm 3 seconds in, i came solely to comment this:bryes its better to sell privately, though more hassle with gobshites making ludicrous offers / potential for scammersbrmy car: ford focus, 20 titanium, petrol, 3dr, 1 of ONLY 700 made, excellent condition, <90k miles, regular servicing, receipts to back upbrbrbad points: age - 05 reg wear and tear on drivers seatbrbrprivate sale I'm looking at c£1500brWBAC: £250 as initial valuation - never took to WBAC sales office as I suspected they were low-balling me due to the cars age Comment from : kingarthur83rd |
Soon as you get them involved you are bringing in middle man so they need make money Comment from : F |
Schofield is a twat Everyone knows WBAC are a rip off and actually offer you LESS when you rock up at their gaff Comment from : 1701:TheFyldeFlyer |
Helps when you are selling from a nice house with a gravel drive, puts people’s minds at rest, sold loads of my cars the same way WBAC will only offer trade prices, no surprises you made more money privately, if you can put up with the tyre kickers it is worth it Had to laugh at industrial estate you went to, went to see a TT there a couple of years ago which turned out to have a false service history …very nearly got caught out, took 2 months to get my deposit back!! Comment from : Paul Watson |
I was offered £16500 plus vat for a van online from wbac and i took it and they found a dint which their was one and the van had sign writing with my company name so charged for that to be removed which is 100 understandable, They give me £16'060 plus vat for it and it was put into my account in 4 days and i had no messing whatsoever, Bear in mind it was a Vauxhall Vivaro lwb i bought new in april 2019 and it cost me £15495 plus vat, I've since sold them a Vauxhall Combo 20 plate which was 2 months old and 1500 miles and i lost only £400 from when i bought it new so they giving good prices Comment from : Steven Prestwich |
One idiot from a different car buying company rocked up to see my elderly neighbour's 2015 Fiat 500 20,000 minter and proceeded to use a paint depth meter all over the bodywork we sent the muppet on his way and sold it for £1,000 more to the garage she bought it from Comment from : Richard Hay |
Scofield is used as a front smiley man you can trust but the truth is a joke Comment from : Paulin Mazurek |
They really don't like anything 'older' newer cars are strong with WBAC though Comment from : EVIL GT |
They just put them straight in the auction put it straight in the auction yourself if u just want rid of it still get more than them Comment from : arthur itchybollix |
Great vid! Cheers Comment from : Watch Stu Do |
Often spoken about but little seen dual alternator Renault Clio!brbrEdit: yip, I wear old clothes, I looked like a hobo today walking into town to buy some tools I needed to get a car back on the road before the afternoon I'm not fussed anymore in my old age lol Comment from : liamcinq |
They never give u what they say online my mate was truthful and got quoted £700 for a fiesta and when he got there due to small scratches they offered £300 so never go off the online valuation it’s nowhere near Comment from : Mohammed Kathrada |
Offered £50 by wbac Sound privately for over a grand They are a rip off Comment from : Richard Parmenter |
I am just doing the same, wbc offered £900 for my 2007 Mini Cooper with no category insurance but it is a cat n and I’m hoping that I sell it for at least £1,200 as it has 7 months mot Has lacquer peeling off but will fix that my self before selling I don’t mind the hassle of selling privately Great informative vid But as a side note there are better companies than wbc and offer a bit more money Comment from : Parvin Kukar |
WBAC feeds on the gullible and lazy who CBA to do anything themselves Comment from : Ian Margetts |
Every time I've went on website they've offered me like 70 percent of what the cars worth and I've sold it privately for loads more it's so atrocious what they offer it's just ripping people who don't know better off it should be shut down Comment from : arthur itchybollix |
I'd have been amazed if you hadn't beaten WBAC- their prices are low to start with, they always find some reason to reduce the original offer when people take their cars in and I have heard that they also charge an admin fee of £49! Think selling privately is the way to go for the best price, a fresh MOT and getting the car looking its best are essential for a quickish sale As used car prices seem high at the moment I wonder if you would get a better price by sendig a car to auction? although there would be seller fees to do that Comment from : Steve Egginton |
we buy any car almost always take money off the price they quote you on line ie dents stone chips scratches damaged wheels ectbri have taken 2 cars to thembri sold my citroen cactus to them last week gave a trade price on line £7000they knocked off £400 for a few tiny stone chipsbrplus they take off £7499 for admim and charge you £30 if you want paying the same day or its free if you want to wait 4 working days for your payment to clear in your bank so i got £6500brso dont think the online price they give is firm it never is they always knock money off for silly thingsbrthats how they make there money as most cars they sell go into british car auctions Comment from : paul moles |
Very interesting video! Comment from : Stephen Stewart |
WBAC is owned by BCA, it is a conduit to supply used cars to their auction business They look to knock off money for any minor defect at all Evans Halshaw offered to beat any quote from WBAC, I got them to quote on a 2 yo mint Évoque with 14k miles, they offered 2 k less than WBAC! My LR dealer told me that they look to clear 25k minimum on a trade in When they offer more they are taking it out of the finance APR which most people opt for anyway WBAC and the like are not interested in the bottom end of the market Interesting video all the same Sam 👍 Comment from : George Daville |
I sold them my 06 jaguar s type r, fsh no scratches 2 keys etc, 80,000 miles, these appear on autotrader from 8 to 10k depending if private or dealer, wbac paid 95k money in bank 15 mins later Note the 95 was after their fees This was a satisfactory outcome as i only paid 72k 18 months ago Didnt have to put up with tyre kickers and time wasters Comment from : Chris Clarke |
I wonder what the previous damage was? 🤔 Jame’s mate Clio sounds brill!! Is it just the induction kit? Standard exhaust? Comment from : Ken A |
4:32 … S3 360 brake? I think we know what you mean Sam 🤗 Comment from : Dipo |
So it sold for £2,750 Nice little flip there Always best off selling privately Comment from : John G |
we buy any always under value cars by 50 they tried to offer me £610 on a mk4 mondeo with a book price of £1500 Comment from : mark tyler |
More hassle going to wbac They seem to be reasonable on newer rather than older cars Comment from : Steve Hughes |
Very interesting However, what people should bear in mind is that WBAC would generally offer trade prices or less to leave a margin for their profit as I presume they will be selling the cars on It's always best to sell privately to maximise the price Comment from : Atef Elabed |
Interesting Experiment and 82 is mad Comment from : Gareth Edwards |
You didn't add the damage on the quote You can add specific damage to the quote, 2 boxes at the top Most people don't notice it and when they take it down they moan about the guy knocking more off Comment from : Chris Saunders |
WBAC is a con !! I ask them for a price for a car, and they offered me £125 I sold the car for £600 privately A bit of a difference Comment from : Chrystina |
Great video Sam, I`ve seen afew videos now about WBAC and all are not good, with them never sticking to the price they quote people online, I just gave my old car to my son, after I purchased a Lexus LS430 I texted WBAC just out of curiosity as I wanted to give my other son the value of the car in cash (cant give to one without the other lol) and they pestered me for ages afterwards, like you, I never got to take the car there, but Im betting they`d have halved what they quoted me once they have the car in front of them I believe they are very shady indeed Keep up the great Vids "thumbs up" Comment from : Nick Davis |
I thought you sold that mini???brHow come it's back on the drive? Comment from : Roy Bradley |
Cracking video Sam, I think the approach you took to the sale definitely made all the difference nicely presented, decent set of pics in a good location plus the fresh ticket 👌 And same here mate always old clothes for car work save the decent stuff for best👍 Comment from : Nick Hudson |
In my experience, WBAC always drop their online quote once they see the car in the flesh, pretty much guaranteed Comment from : Pete S |
track the TTS Comment from : Car Chris |
I had a 2010 Audi TT S line Mint condition WBAC offered online £3800 with all the correct details one key, MOT Service history etc when you turn up they offer you something completely different They offered £2400 MAX A message to Sam Would have been interesting if you'd taken it to them to see what they really offer? Online valuation is bull $h1t :D (WBAC rip you off guys) Comment from : VWDUB NUT |
What you're not covering is the fact that when you bring the car to them for inspection, they strip another 25 off the offer Comment from : Jim Agnew |
You can’t sell cat B cars they can only be broken for parts Comment from : Maverick 41 |
Yes Comment from : Nick Mackenzie onlinelaptoplifestyle |
Got a price off them for my 58 plate Mini One, 4 owners, good history, full MOT, 79k on the clock I would have got more scrapping it Traded it in against a 67 plate Cooper and got 1k p/x Comment from : Geoff Bell |
Top video pal, enjoyed that!! Comment from : Craig Leese |
