Nice! I have a Foursquare Indelible(aged 11 years in bourbon cask’s and Zinfandel cask’s ) that’s very good and a Dos Maderas 2500 that really nice I hear that Grander Rum is for bourbon drinkers!

Most rums are not true to the age labeled on the bottle, being aged in a different climate, rum ages a lot faster in those areas, so it’s a rough estimate of how it should taste like Very hard to find true aged rum

Foursquare Exceptional Cask Series is amazing Sagacity is good but 2007, 2008 at the higher proof are even better as a bourbon fan IMO

This is interesting bcuz while I was at a wedding in Punta Cana I thought I was drinking a whiskey but it was RUM all along Some Rums do drink like bourbons or whiskeys Oh, and I didn't mind!!! Loving all the bourbon bottles in the background!!! I will be trying those last 3 bottles🥴☺

The Appleton 12 year old is quite nice at a reasonable price It's got the Jamaican funk with a whole lot of oak If you want to try something super funky at a higher proof, try the Smith & Cross Navy Strength Rum It's a youthful concoction of two different types of rum, 115 proof, often used for making tiki drinks But as a fan of high proof whiskies, I actually enjoy it neat I'm a fan of the FUNK You could be too!

Not historically a rum drinker, but at one of my favorite watering holes recently the bar keep asked me to taste something blind which I thought was a rye and ended up being an Old McCoy 12 year rummaybe I need to start venturing in to rumsThanks for the reviews!

So rum, wow that’s awesome that you two love rum I collect rum not like I do bourbon or scotch but at least 100 bottles of rum not really an expert but I really enjoy rum, enough said there’s some great rums out there that you can drink neat four squares was one that I would recommend as well as Pilar rum that is made in Keywest try the dark rum or you could try privateer made in Ipswich Ma they make high proof rum called queens share or navy yard They are rums for bourbon drinkers brI spent a year down in Keywest and drank my way through 1/3 of the rum (they had well over 275 rums) from a bar called the the Rum bar If you ever go to Keywest that is a must stop to drink quality rums, just tell them Norm sent you My friend Nick will hook you guys up!

Bourbon and Rye!brbrJust kidding :-)brbrHaven’t had any of those rums What’s in our cabinet is Barbancourt Five Star 8 year from Haiti I use to travel to there and Nicaragua for work and would bring back three packs of that from Haiti and Flor de Caña from Nicaragua Purchased duty free in the airports Great stuff In Haiti the Barbancourt is everywhere and at various price points (3 Star and 1 Star) The older stuff was for export only

Great review, but I am very careful to pour a rum I tend to find them far too sugary The mouthfeel on Foursquare was certainly interesting and luscious? Thanks for sharing!

Rums often do have a much more tropical flavor Ive had a rum that tasted like straight up coconut macaroons It was cognac finished and had no coconut flavoring added Ive absolutely loved everything ive had from foursquare from doorlys to 2008 They remain my favorite

Great vid Another one to try if you see it is The Real McCoy Rum They have a White (3 year) and a 5 and 12 I had the 5 and 12 Unfortunately I have not seen them in NJ this year There is no added sugar in The Real McCoy Rums Cheers

Get on a plane and go the Hawaii and have some Koloa Rum maybe in a MaiTai Remember Hawaii is known for sugar plantations and growing sugar cane In the interim, while sipping rum in Oregon , let the aromas waft you to some distant tropical isle Going to Hawaii yeah, you're definitely going to be doing some rum Please, don't feel disloyal to your standard bourbon: just lay back and enjoy the experience Just melt into the all of it!

Demerera River and distilled in wooden stills Quite a story for El Dorado rum I believe the British Navy procured it's rum from Demerera River stills Worth an historical look see Bye the by, all iterations of ElDorado rum are worthwhile A sipper for sure Flor de Cana is another very good rum from Nicaragua in it's aged expressions Vizcaya is good; tastes like butterscotch Black Seal is good for a 'Dark & Stormy" which contains ginger beer that you mix with it; National drink of Bermuda Prussers Navy rum I love; the rum of the old British Navy All worth a try My bourbon journey has only recently commenced, but I still hold rum dear to my heart

The tropical flavors are from the yeast strains and fermentation process Rum goes flat in the bottle much quicker than whiskey I only drink rum on vacation so I can finish the bottle in the week Just my system All of those are rums I drink

Doorly’s 12 is another Foursquare that is easily the best value sipping rum out there imo Pretty sure it’s a total wine exclusive but if you can find it, I suggest it highly Great vid!

I have recently started my rum journey with Foursquare 2008 being my gateway rum I love that bottle so much I just bunkered 4 bottles as they are quickly disappearing from the shelves All the other Foursquare offerings I've had are fantastic and I'd also recommend trying the Appleton Estate 21 year 🥃

Neat whisky lover/aficionado here Fred Minnick's love for Foursquare Rum, led me to try Doorly's 12 Years pure clean rum (about $30 bucks) and I was hooked A new world of flavor profile to explore Sagacity is definitely amazing Foursquare is a standard for Barbados Style Rum and Rum in general The depth of history of Rum in the world is compelling There is so much FUNK to be experienced Both in Sweeten or Unsweetened rums Unadulterated for me please, but I am open for experiences, we all crave sugar at times, I'll take my in the liquid form of rum many great options out there and many up and coming here within the USA

Foursquare is great stuff - now don’t go spreading this too far, prices are already creeping up! You can also try Doorlys or Real McCoy - same distillery, similar style and generally less expensive

You should try the Barbancourt 8 and 15 year, and the Appleton 12 year Great sippers If I remember correctly, Appleton, Barbancourt, and Mount Gay do not add sweeteners or caramel coloring to their products Haven't tried Foursquare yet, but I'm on the lookout for their offerings Others that I have enjoyed were English Harbour 5year, and Smith and Cross at 114 proof Cheers!

Rum was my gateway alcohol I drank a lot of rum in college and shortly after However, I cut out drinking frequent cocktails because the mixers are so sweet I drank mostly beer and some wine for many years until I recently started drinking bourbon neat I would like to find a rum I like neat
