I tried this, i failed, im gonna try again and if i fail, ill try again I dont value resilience for no reason! Tried it at 10, lost all my skill and relied on tracing , (almost end of year 5) , Quit Art Start of year 6? to think an actual artist draws from reference most of the time and doesn't actually draw from imagination kind of relieved some self destructive thoughts i hadbrbri thought i could never be considered an artist if i can't draw complex stuff purely from my brain

I took the biggest art break (of 4-5 years) and now I’m starting to draw again I have a 13 day streak of drawing every single day now and I plan on keeping this streak for months! I learned how to draw decent faces these past days, now my goal is to learn anatomy… MY ART LOOKS HORRIBLE 😅 Anatomy is so hard 😫 I won’t give up though, on day 1 I couldn’t draw a good face, now I can… I wonder how long it’ll take for me to learn how to draw bodies decently

I don’t know if I’m the only one struggling with this since I’m in a art college and all I do is trace the reference, and start to break down into shapes in order to study the anatomy and I continue to do this process to make my muscle memory get stronger

I don't even understand what should I memorize and what I should leave alone I can't make my brain take this seriously since I see next to no anatomy in people They mostly have stick-limbs How much of a pelvis can you see when looking at a person? Basically, all you need to know is points of legs connection Unless you draw erotic Maybe a bit of how butt works when sitting differently And well, let's be honest, how much anatomy you should know to never use a reference? Who does never use reference? So it's not essential, more like helpful to know SOME of it Mostly you need hands, feet, face Spine Proportions Gestures Proko level of anatomy seems like an overkill Maybe it's best to invest time in focused essence of what you actually need for work

This video is phenomenal for me at least I have been on and off drawing for a while now as I don't have enough confidence in my own art style and pieces I produce Since going back to school, I have yet to really take any new drawing classes but have taken animation 1 which allowed me to do or try new things for myself that I never thought I would ever do which actually helped break the mold of my stubbornness to try something new and explore as I am highly critical of my own work, as a lot of artists are I recently started to use real people poses and draw my simplified skeleton on top of them to see these poses in shapes which I see you are using in the video and honestly its the best set up for most people who struggle with recreating the human body or any body for that matter Trying to create a body from the mind tends to be hard for me as I can see it clearly in the mind, but placing it on paper or digital paper can be tough and stressful Your video is beyond helpful as I am able to go even further in my practice than I did a couple weeks back

I always found photographys as a difficult method to use to learn anatomy, and just avoided it So I leaned towards artworks but I thought it was wrong of me to learn that way, I don't know why but, it just felt off seeing other artists use photography as a reference rather than another person's artwork It felt like I was stealing or something 😅 brbrBut it's good to know you used this method, I feel more at ease Surprisingly, I haven't studied anatomy a whole lot and I decided I should I hope I can improve a lot! I love your videos, they're so helpful :')

the way that i have done ur method and have LEVED TF UP ART WISE here is howbr1) I only ever drew head shots before now i attempted drawing morebr2)drew a whole pose when origially all my art was stiff and only shoulders upbr3) More fluid that before and can do different angles than i could have done before brAll i have to say is thank u because this practice has made perfect <3!!!

That tip at the beginning of trying to draw something from memory to see if you've actually learned it is actually really good I started drawing certain separate things (eye, nose, mouth, ear, hand) and most of these I was actually surprisingly good at Gave me a nice bit of confidence Even the hand wasn't horrible

I always hated how people didn't take into account that understanding anatomy from photos is hard because you don't have clear lines that show the forms of every part of the body That's why this video was so helpful! I felt bad about learning anatomy from art and not pictures, but with your video a tried this method in your way and made so much progress!

I've been trying to get better at drawing from imagination for a while now and it's HARDbrIt's soooo much harder than using reference, to the point that I wont consider myself an artist until I can properly draw without references brCurrently I can imagine a pose in my head but it doesn't come perfectly when I draw it and it really frustrates me

Lovely video dude! I really liked it I’ve been trying to draw for years but my anxiety and Low self esteeem stops me cause when I try to learn to draw The tiniest bit of frustration from doing something wrong makes me want to stop I don’t know what causes this for me to suffer in this way but I suspect that I might have ADHD I need this get diagnosed and find out if it is that… cause right now I can’t draw and I dream to be an animator

Something I've struggled with that is a personal hurdle is at a young age of my distaste for tracing I've always done my art free handed and from perspective but for me right now it doesn't seem to be enough to just free hand reference anymore
