I read in my textbook that in addition to watching the lady beat up the Bobo doll, there was an additional segment at the end in which the woman was either praised, reprimanded, or not given any feedback for her actions The children who saw the woman receive praise for her aggressive actions towards the doll were more likely to mimic her actions, while the children who saw the woman being reprimanded were less likely to mimic her actions I think it's strange that this was left out of the video, as it kind of implies that being exposed to any aggression at all will increase aggression, rather than explaining that the consequences (or lack thereof) are what encourage or discourage aggression Comment from : X Conner |

your mother not like you Comment from : Jordan Stoqnov |
In my opinion, the agressive behaviour occurred only against the doll because they saw the adult doing so, and not against any other object/toy in the room Therefore, the kids have only imitated a concrete action/behaviour, not the pattern It is reasonable to think that imitation has an important role on the learning process and that is all what this experiment proves Comment from : Bernat Massó Guirao |
Well but that doll is actually very scary Comment from : Creepy Unicorn |
I don´t know You have a lot of "boring" toys, and this fun thing popping up and down, responding to what your doing And you´ve been shown how to play with it, not having to figure it out by yourself The boy showed some aggressive body language , but the girl really did not as far as I could understand So how to you measure the aggressive motivation, and aggressive intent behind the behavior? I didn´t see much aggressive body language, motivation or intent with the adult either so what does this really tell us? I have a lot of questions after watching this one - there´s a lot more to it if you ask me (?) :P Comment from : Albert K Nelson |
I don't agree with the assessment It seems the children were looking at someone who was giving instructions I would have to have sound to go along with the video This is suspect Comment from : NoMore Procrastination |
Thanks for the upload I would be interested to see if there's a separate video shown to the kids in which the the doll was treated kindly, comforted, etc, as well as other videos showing different types of dolls, including clowns with different facial expressions and sizes, animals, and ones that don't bounce back Comment from : lfbd89 |
The Little Albert experiment is clearly child abuse and Pavlov conducted animal abuse on the dogs he experimented on This one is not abuse but it is scary for the children that are being experimented on because they might show aggression with friends Comment from : Logan Gomez |
Am I the only one who thinks that the footage looks really scary and creepy? Kind of like a horror movie of some sorts Comment from : szatanna |

The kids beating on the punching bag are freaking adorable! Comment from : twn5858 |
Now an experiment with TRULY disturbing real-world relevance was the Milgram experiment, in which young ADULTS intentionally inflicted what they believed to be actual pain on other living, breathing people simply because an authority figure told them to do so Comment from : dreamlandnightmare |
Very young children beating a plaything, designed specifically to be brbeaten, after witnessing adult (an authority figure/figure of trust) brbeat plaything How shocking Yes, this irrefutably proves that brwatching/participating in fantasy violence turns us all into violent, brempathy-bereft psychopathsbrbrI wonder what Bandura did to follow up this experiment Prove that brchildren are more likely to perform a task if given a reward rather thanbr no reward at all? Groundbreaking Comment from : dreamlandnightmare |
That's scary It shows aggression is learned behavior That's why parents need to be very careful before acting aggressively around their children Comment from : Amanda |
