Mine wasn't Bobo it was hulk Hogan but it was cool because you could punch , uppercut, karate kick, anything and bobo/hogan would automatically come right back at you for more Comment from : Truth Iz Back |

Hi I'm Bobo Comment from : Truth Iz Back |
Man it's a tough one,, school shootings would say this study was correct, but mentally sound people simply do things like reference quotes from childhood games (violence or non) like "fatality" after a winning situation, vs truly attempting to rip someone's heart out as saying it🤷🏽♂️ Comment from : Myles Fitzgerald |
That's a very, very, very very very dumb experiment Comment from : Junpro |
How about it's a blow up doll for punching What do you think a kid is gonna do I'd beat the crap outta that thing Comment from : matthew monsour |

I'm pretty sure we had a Bobo doll in the 1960s I think these experiments were rubbish, because clowns are creepy, and punching a plastic clown is perfectly reasonable Comment from : Claire Nollet |

For some ungodly reason, my Nana had a "Bobo" in her home No doubt to terrify myself and my 30-sum cousins, as we grew up while simultaneously entertaining the adults I'm not sure what this says about me, but I would use our "Bobo" to pummel my b*tchy cousin Lizzie who was only 6 months younger than me and a hateful, hateful little wretch 🙄😬 😆🤣😆 Comment from : Dana Weaver |
Weebles Wobble but they won't fall down they will, however, LEAVE ONE HELL OF A GOOSE EGG WHEN YOU THROW THEM AT YOUR SISTER! Comment from : thundercockize Nope |
They mimicked playing with a toy the way it was shown to be played with Shocking They learned from a real life scenario I think most kids are smart enough to separate video games violence from the real world This experiment seems extremely flawed and ultimately pointless Comment from : marmarbinx |
To my understanding the Bobo doll is exactly the same as a punching bag that is in a gym Speed and agility is gained as well as a healthy means to exhaust anxiety Comment from : Sondra Graf |

Dude had to make a test stand to find out that for a kid it isn't what they can do, they can do it all, but it is what they aren't allowed to do Also, to find out that the majority of girls are more timid than the majority of boys Boy, what revelations! Comment from : atsimas |
why is that unethical? seems like a pretty normal experiment Comment from : lonelyPorterCH |
🤡Legit I would fight that clown too I have always liked hitting inanimate things The proof would be hurting another person, not an object😐 Comment from : AKitCatB |
This study took place in 1961 I was born in 60 They could have got the answer with a lot less effort and expense by simply putting two children in front of the television and turning on the Three stooges Sit back and observe It is a miracle The Three stooges did not get one Us killed in a rather violent death or injury😮 I love them as a child and I still love them today but I know that they are a dangerous threesome It was basically adult entertainment And no one thought there was any harm in allowing children to watch it But I beg to differ Comment from : Elizabeth Barringer |
This study was deceitful and traumatizing for no good reason Comment from : 🌟Polaris; just do the Work 💚 |
Maybe we shouldn't put science in the hands of greedy corrupt brainless politicians Comment from : Enigma Nemo |

Technically NO body displayed aggression They just played with a toy, as shown how to play with itbrAggression would be if another child was hit, instead of Bobo Comment from : Jim on the coast |

The creator of AA said it best when he explained how children learn by attitudes placed upon them by their environments and also, humans are not not animals Comment from : WinterMoonchild |
Psychology depends on the idea that humans have free will This is proven time and time again to not be the case Psychology is therefore a soft science and allows for many flaws in it’s experiments Comment from : Gary B |

Me, having played video games since I was a toddler: "7:09 HAHAHAHAHA! 69 months!" Comment from : xX_GodNotReal_Xx |

Games these days for sure are pretty bad Cod where you can learn every weapon system and some You can bury an axe into someone's face, over and over with blood, decapitation and all It isn't bad to know your guns and what they can do, it's just making EVERYONE who plays them numb to the graphics of it all and get them used to the violence and language in real life Those games are not as bad as some of these new games out on phones where you can spread viruses insife any country you'd like, you can cause warfare inside any country or destroy any country and the game name itself is horrific!! "Supremacy"the same words that are being used by our crooked government to brainwash our children This is just one small way of them doing it, but it will have MASSIVE consequences, trust me When they call someone or groups "white supremacists" they will think back to that game and link the two as "oh yeah! White supremacists take over and destroy countries, cause thats what it means in that game!" So right there, they view these people who are FALSELY being called such names as nothing but enemies that need dealt with or they will destroy countries They want a War between us and all it takes is some key words being used over and over and over until it sticks Smfh You guys think these games have no double meaning or hidden agenda behind them, the movies do too Don't try and argue with me or call me a "conspiracy theorist" just keep being ignorant and watch Comment from : Shawn Nixon |
So the result is kids like to play with toys and people may be naturally violent pretty groundbreaking stuff🤔🙄🙄🙄 Comment from : fuckyoutube |
The study was a bit sillybrThe bobo doll is designed to be hit to "play" with it Comment from : NonchalantBuhddist |

I had to do a project studying video game aggression in young boys and though it was done on a small scale, it was observed that video games do cause aggression in young boys It’s actually quite simple and makes sense when you think about it Though most of the people that disagree with this are adults we neglect how developed a child’s emotions and brain are Young boys (and teenage boys) are all different and though some might be more developed than others, most are still developing They are still learning and developing their emotional skills, and being exposed to violence might negatively impact them brbrIt is an interesting topic and should be researched more, but a lot of studies in favour of violent video games are sponsored or influenced by the corporations that rely on young people accessing these games The most important thing in these studies should be the young boys and to provide them with a fair chance at developing properly, especially developing their emotions Comment from : Human |

I don't like experiments like that on children because you don't know what that will do to them Comment from : Rexfords mama |

My son loved the Mortal Kombat show, but I didn't know about the game and would have been too young for that br But as he was watching the Mortal Kombat show one day, he asked me if I would enter him in this contest br The show was so fast that I had to record it so that I could stop it and read the address to send in his namebr Sent entrances to my in other states, send in for mebr Our daughter actually won the TV, vcr, and two Mortal Kombat tapes since her name was drawn, but I said it was a win for the whole family 😊 Comment from : Rexfords mama |

I bought my 3 year old one of these toys not long ago I blew it up and put it down in front of him without a word or me even pushing it It took an entire 10 seconds before he pushed it, it popped up, and bam he was punching it in the face If anything i would think this shows human instinct rather than a learned behavior The toy was literally invented for that purpose brPlus Bobo was talking sh!t about the other toys as soon as he got out of that box Comment from : Ryan Wilson |
All my friends had bobo dolls in the 70sthey were innocuous in houses with kids HOLY SHIT!! Comment from : Cracktaculus |

Kids are obviously influenced by what they experience, anyone saying otherwise is more interested in defending the specific influence, or intends to influence kids to their own ends Comment from : kassarc16 |

I read this study in psychology class; my teacher did not say much about it, just had us read it and study the children's behavior Comment from : Sara Donahue |
I found these boring myself Comment from : Sara |
So many flaws in this study I box at home and have never ever punched anyone Not all kids from violent homes turn out violent I'm glad that we have come a long way from this Comment from : Sara |
The biggest problem I have with this study is calling punching/throwing the toy “aggression” It’s play Children play wrestle, have their toys fight each other, play cops and robbers, play with nerf guns or have imaginary sword fights… none of that is indicative of actual aggression toward feeling individuals that can experience painbrbrWhy were we ever using “do you punch the inanimate object if someone shows you how to punch it” as a criteria for “aggression”? It’s such a poor example Comment from : Lexi Nicole |
This is really stupid Kids aren't idiots They know the difference between hitting an inanimate object and hitting other people So showing that kids hit the doll more often tells us absolutely nothing about whether they are more violent There could even be a negative correlation if kids use doll hitting as therapeutic, to treat their feelings of frustration so they are less likely to lose their temper and hurt people Comment from : Cariboubear Malachy |
The funny thing is violent media does make people violentbrBut "violent media" is not just media with violence Bur media that displays the unrestricted, and concequenceless, violence of their fellow community membersbrbrThings like people getting others cancled over twitter Or people seeing fellow customers getting free meals if they can pin a bad enoughbfault on the employeebrOr seeing people spread missinformation or calls for violence, without backlashbrbrThis is violent mediabrNot mortal combat or saw movies Comment from : Ethribin |
I remember those congressional hearings on violent video games It was nuts Playing Duck Hunt or Mortal Kombat did not encourage my friends or I to want to commit heinous crimes Side note: I always played as Raiden His special move was not only the easiest to remember, but it was the fastest one to input on the controller- back, back, forward, forward Using the same move over & over again to win is not cheating 😂 Comment from : myownfan |
Ethics? What's that? Comment from : Jason Baumgartner |
It's good but it's obvious a lot of these concepts are ill handled Example, when a study has a limited sample you'd say that the findings are not generalizable, not that it's unreliable Reliability of results and measurements is a whole other thing, and the adequacy of the design and methods too You conflate very different things with sampling Your "ethical implications" section also demonstrates an outright poor understanding of research language All of the problems with Bandura's research are more or less well described here but jumbled across due to a lack of conceptual and semantic cohesion I can't remember who said it, but research can be understood as a language, and to properly understand a study and have a discussion around the implications, you should first understand the language Comment from : omgtkseth |
Odd, but I had a stuffed Clown, not this inflatable thing, when I was 4 or 5brCoincidentally, I had named it, br" Bobo ", or after watching this maybe it was the commercial name given it ?brPoint is moot !brHaving Grandkids that love playing video games, hoped to learn something, about the topic, instead , I was very disappointed after getting 3/4 of the way through the video, and was told that the experiment was essentially flawed !brNow I'm wondering if I was really one of the Lab Rats that's being studied ?br br ✋ 😳 🤚 Comment from : Sleeve |

This is a short documentry? (Not complaining) Comment from : BiggusRichard17 |

I rate it a 1 Comment from : Lindsey Lockwood |

How many people grew up watching looney tunes? Seriously! People aren't running around smashing each other with anvils, hammers, etc This violent video game and cartoon crap is f'ing beyond stupid Why won't people focus on the real issue That some individuals have serious mental health issues Just like the stupid asses who want "assault weapons 😂" banned, but refuse to acknowledge that the dumb asses who commit horrendous crimes have HUGE mental issues that are not being addressed Comment from : Tickle Fingers |
They were Kelly dolls, ie wobbly Kelly’s They were good fun that’s all Comment from : David Rhodes |
