Man I guess I give my opponents' too much credit I always like to try to figure out what they have and when they went all in I immediately assumed they had QQ With a board having 9, 10, and J, the top of the open-ended straight draw plus overpair was the only thing that I thought was in their range where the semi-bluff seemed like a good play to me But actually they had an even worse hand than that The good news for me is that, expecting a QQ, I'd still call Comment from : Doug S |

Okay I read your article on why PokerStars is not rigged and I generally agree with all your comments but I would tend to say that from my experience and of course this is not a sample satisfactory enough it begs a question whether the down swings and up swings in the hands do not promote depositing money to the account again by players thus driving profit Yesterday and today I played something around a 200 hands sample which we know from the statistics 120 sample is enough for some normal distribution to be tested by the T-student or other Gauss based methods I played some super solid poker and had good reads, seriously I got tilted 7 (seven!) times in a row by a river card forming a set of 3s, 5s or 7s and the likes That doesn't mean PokerStars is rigged, but I think it promotes major swings so that you spend money and go all in and you keep on playing Otherwise half a billion dollars profit every year would not happen if the losers always lost and the winners would always win The popularity of such a platform would quickly diminish and we all know addressable market and ranges are super important You need volume of players and games, tournaments, hands to make profit This is how the propagation works and there has to be a sense that everybody can win which we know is not true So not to say that PokerStars is rigged, but I would err on the side of doubt that it is purposefully skewed so that it is interesting, there are major swings in the hands artificially amplified and everybody can win, even the stupid players against the odds For your benefit, money was not involved, I was simply training in poker tokens, not real money What is the probability that a river card beats a higher hand 7 times in a row? Simplified math says 2/52 (assuming no one folded the fourth set forming card) to the power of 7 which is circa 4^7 I should play bingo or lotto perhaps, but I say it is so unlikely that I don't think this is an incidence and blind RNG It is so skewed AF To conclude, your article has all the right arguments why PokerStars is not rigged, but it doesn't answer the key question are the hands generated there not skewed I suspect they might be to promote volatility Theoretically if we believe they provide accurate data sets we could download all the history and check probabilities versus reality and check the variance But they don't even react to the hands where I pinpointed errors (I had a hand when I lost with a set against a straight, the only problem was the guy did not have a straight and the system generated some stupid comment that the opponent won with a straight 9 to Ace which is absurd) Comment from : Andrzej Kondracki |
I don’t really understand the guy could’ve easily had pocket eights or king queen suited where do these guys play where do you guys play that people play like this tell me where is so I can go Comment from : Ninja Nutcase |

"Never in his range"brAs someone that plays loose and like to semi-bluff and have my opponent questioning if I'm value of block betting, I will say that I would totally play a king queen that aggressively Comment from : Patrick Jakobsen |

I think the biggest challenge is doubting my own range skills, everytime I trust my instincts and knowledge of ranges I do well, everytime I let irationality kick in and play like a "gambler" I lose money, who knew lol Comment from : Kaizze |

I play $25/50 and I’ve basically given up on ranges Ffs today a dude opened 3bb UTG and got 2 callers, I raised to 20bb from the CO with KK Flop comes down J 4 7 with 2 diamonds I fire a cBet of 25bb and dude calls Next card come 7hearts I jam for 3/4 pot and dude calls - beats with with 7-3 offsuit He called a 20bb 3bet out of position with 7-3 offsuit How the hell do you play ranges with shit like that going on? Total contraction of strategy He said at the beginning that his range could be 10’s or Jacks… sure enough the flop hits a jack he said he is not worried at that point even a 10 shows up, which he put in his range and goes all in at that point… which says he might have hit his 10’s and protecting it against a straight… not a great video I’m afraid Comment from : canam2436 |

Are we assuming that pocket 10s are out of 4 bet range for this opponent? It seems believable he could have 10s with the ship on the turn rather than a straight imo Comment from : Matt LeClerc |
So are we willing to live with them having a set of J’s, 9’s, and 10’s? I feel like even at micro levels players are playing those cards that way pre-flop more than AK Comment from : charles jarvis |

This in my opinion was a total gamble He was repping a huge hand If he had JJ or 1010, you were screwed Up until he shoved, there was no way you were in good shape or could be sure he didn't have it At the end of the day, all you had was a pair That's it And the chances of him betting big with tens or jacks were pretty high After the flop, there was a HUGE chance he could have a set, and you had one pair Lots of top pros play 10s or Jacks This was a total gamble and you literally got lucky If he had 10s or Jacks, this video would be about how to lose all your money by overplaying a pair like a beginner The all in shove was literally the only thing that gave away his hand, and even at that, he could have done it in response to your small raise after he checked, maybe assuming you would have bet bigger Also, this play worked because it was heads up You could NEVER have played the hand like that if there were one or two others involved Comment from : MikeWilde |
That was one of the best videos I have seen in a while Comment from : Andy McGowan |
Set of Jacks or a set of 10's easily could be in his range Pocket Queens could have made that play, as they have an over and picked up an open-ended although the Queens probably lead out on the flop I'm actually very surprised that he showed up with AK after calling the flop Comment from : Alex H |
Great stuff Comment from : vigilante |
11:54 And lets see what he has Oh Hes got 83 Well that was not a good example let's try another one :-)) Comment from : Vladimir Pavliv |
Damn, but what if he had AKh and you got murdered by the 3 h that dropped? you had no blocker, so its def in his range I would make the call, but I would also be crushed when I saw the 3h Comment from : LocalDopeDude |

I am not for trolling someone here, bit one thing bothers me a lot, since I know from experience, how hard it is with poker market and sports betting brbrI hire you as a coach I giving 50 of my winnings IF somebody shine up with a short term conceptbrbrWhat nobody telling, when making videos like this, is HOW MUCH TIME they invested to get those poor 100 bucks per day brbrYes, it's all about money But it's about money in relation to the time, that you have to invest in As an example: when he played 8 hours for 100 bucks, it's 12,5 per hour brThis is not good!!! It's easier to get a job in a normal industry, because they pay you guaranteed when you simply do your work Without any variancebrbrAlso nobody mentioned, that it's not a bullet proof thing It's more a mathematical game, where you need stone cold disciplinebrbrMy point is simple: when somebody have this characteristics, they don't watch videos like this one They just right now making that fkn moneybrbrI can't hear it anymore "Long term Long term Long termbrbrWhat does it mean? One year? Two years? How much money and time you have to invest in? brbrThat was much text Sorry But I am feeling so kidding by people who sells me shit as gold Comment from : Lulu, der Große |
No way Any reg or rec or pro would never jam all-in on that board Never When you call $44, your opponent is putting you on a pair like JJ, 10s, 9s, 8s, or even QQ So this is a totally fictional fantasy that a player would jam overbet all-in with AK and give all his money away Would never happen in real life Just a ridiculous example if u ask me (But I still like your videos) Comment from : chitownlew |
so what you are saying is we should ship if we have a straight or a set of jacks because you wouldn't be able to fold aces thanks Comment from : Adam D |
You need to play 20 ten dollor tourneys with a 50 roi to make 100 a day on average its just a math problem 😊Love the example thx Comment from : Lucas Valentino Goupil |
I don't know why you forced all those other players to fold preflop brbr Comment from : Word of Mouth |
You need to work on your Bluffing range Your opponent should not be able to assume aces if you 5bet pre You don't need a lot of bluffs but just adding AK and Aks would help Comment from : Chris M |
He can definitely have KQs in his range as it is often used as 4bet bluff in this positions Comment from : Urke G |
thing is couldn't a bad reg that doesn't understand ranges 4-bet on KQ exactly because he's a bad reg? I can see a bad reg overplaying their hand and/or thinking KQ is better than it is there's a lot of bad info on poker out there and people will follow it thank you for all the videos! Comment from : DSPenguin |
I would argue that perhaps he considered shoving turn to rep QQ which is what a lot of poor(?) regs would also do Telling a believable story that vil has a strong overpair with an open ended draw and that if hero wants to continue chasing with any weak pair or draw also it'll be expensivebrOf course with our AA it'd still be a call but villain can't know that Comment from : glgunblade |
You forgot sets JJ which would be in his range Comment from : Wade Purton |
Great video! I appreciate the content I suppose it isn't that likely that he had a set of Jack's That would be the only hand I would be leary of But UTG, 4 bet pot is a stretch for Jack's Comment from : Kevin Alexander |
If we assume he is incapable of reading ranges, why are we so certain he isn't "value betting" a set? I have seen players do this numerous times when they turn their miracle set I mean I'm still calling every time with the aces But I don't feel that great about it tbh Comment from : Brdobu |
Cool advice thanks Comment from : Darren Watson |
$100 a day? Over how many hours? $100 dollars a day for a one hour session may be okay but if you're putting in many hours that's hardly worth you're time Comment from : Brett |
The oval tablecloth terminally reach because chive outstandingly disarm through a squeamish mosque witty, salty ukrainian Comment from : Rosa Lane |
I watch all your videos and find them really useful brBut your advice is always restricted to the tactics and strategy of that particular handbrHow would you play hands where despite everything it is a 50/50 tossup as to whether you are winning or not - in other words how much uncertainty would cause you to fold? In most hands - especially on Zoom - everyone folds after the flop and very little money changes hands The big money changes hands when 2/3 players have big hands - and this is not often As a result the 50/50 tossup situation occurs quite frequently and has a large effect on your win rate I suspect your answer to this question will be - the more hands you play the less the uncertainty will be!brSo in a future video can you provide an idea of the hours per day required to make $100 per day for a professional level player playing Zoom and how many names would he be playing under? Comment from : Will Witt |
Dislike for bait Sorry Comment from : Ptakun Damian Show |

12-03: This is exactly the reason I prefer trading sports to playing online Poker! Sports, I CAN control (to a large degree) Poker - as in this scenario - depends far too much on 'luck' for me! That said, great video as ever! ;-) Comment from : George Buller |
11-00: Don't you think that there's a strong possibility that he COULD be 'pulling you in' by how his early bets were, only to 'kick your ass!' once he KNEW he had a straight? Personally, I have seen such a scenario work against me on numerous occasions! ;-) Comment from : George Buller |
6-28: Could he too, not have pocket Aces? ;-) Comment from : George Buller |

Hi Nathan,brDon’t you think 3betting though has expanded fairly consistently these days? 3betting at this level prob represents a solid 8-10 of many players ranges so a 3bet doesn’t have to be a super tight range as 3betting s increase Comment from : Marc Carter |

Comment from : Fede A |

Always heads up!!!! Comment from : alan hill |

I somewhat disagree with your titles on videos like this There are a lot of videos called "How to make X in X time period" I understand you have to do what you have to do to get views but the title is a little off to mebrbrThe video is really educational but your viewers are kinda left to figure out the point of video is From this video you explain a lot about 3-4 bet pots and the range of your opponent which is great to learn but I feel like viewers would benefit more from having the lesson of the video in the title to reinforce the point brbrGreat video as always though There is fantastic information in here it's just a little tricky to figure out what we're learning sometimes!
