Back in the 80's long before you guys were born in highschool we had these old mechanical vending machines that had the assorted candy on the bottom rows and on the top rows were the life savers and i found that if you put 35 cents in and hit the top middle button and the coin return at the same time it would automatically dump all the nickels out of the machine and the school had like 4 of these candy machines in the school and everyday id empty these machines of all there nickels, and on one of these machines the top middle button had the wintergreen life savers and for fun i could jam that button and it was pretty intertaining watching the school counselor put his money in that machine and before he could choose what he wanted it was to late he was getting them nasty wintergreen life savers, he would be like wtf and put more money in and get another roll over and over he never could figure out why but with electronic machines now there no more fun to be had except putting syrup in the coin return

Presumably the cord was longer broke and thats how it ended up in the machine I remember seeing a guy in a bar He had a fingerless leather glove with a wire on a pound coin he was playing fruit machines and what he had rigged was like a yoyo

40yrs ago we use to use pennies on arcade games and juke boxes, feed enough pennies in fast as you could some would bump the mech to give you a credit

Yeahhh that quarter on a string trick is how we used to get free credits at the arcade video game machines in the 80s and 90s I don't think new machines fall for that anymore lol

When I was a kid I used to stick my hand up in those candy machines and turn the carousel to get free candy I have very flexible hands and they could squish into anything when they were tiny

I think the fact that the coinstring was found where it would be used means that it doesn't work I'm commenting at only 25 seconds into the video so I have no idea what's going to happen but I do know that these machines tend to validate coins through a variety of means Weight, conductivity, etc
