Thank you for the tips Definitely good idea to have some information trying to have redundancy in my camper It’s going to be my full-time residence I am currently repairing the overhead cab bunk because it got And rotted Currently also working on the generator and I was always told watch items possibly falling off well in transit Also, probably a good idea to put a secondary fuel tank in which I did for the generator so I don’t have to worry about running myself to low on gas keeping different fluids on hand along with repair items maybe even a few extra tires lol Comment from : Craig t |

Good Sam left us high and dry, after four hours of waiting/calling Good Sam I finally made my own arrangements I will be canceling my Good Sam roadside assistance We have paid for roadside assistance for many years and the first time I needed it? Nothing! I was broke down in an area that you do not want to be in after it gets dark Comment from : Jeff Ramsey |

Had multiple bad experiences with AAA a long time ago and won't use them again In 7 years of having our 2003 Newmar DP we've never had to be towed, we were able to drive it to the Caterpillar dealer the one time we lost power and couldn't go over about 45-50 mph and luckily we were only about 5-6 miles from them We use Coach-Net and while we've never had to use it, I know YouTubers who did and they really liked their service They are very familiar with big class A and Bus coaches Comment from : Rick L |

We have CoachNet roadside assistance, they have towed us twice in our 2 1/2 years of fulltime travel They are awesome to work with and we highly recommend them Comment from : Soaring Together RV Life |

in my experience, having the SO CALLED insurance is a waste of money I call local tow companies, and take my chances roadside insurance is a scam Comment from : c Shep |
|
I had a problem with my rig and AAA told me that they would have someone there in 6-8 hours which I found totally unacceptable I decided to call around locally and found someone that could come and tow me in 20 minutes I called AAA and told them this and they said that the service I found was not part of their contract and I could not use them I argued and they finally agreed that I could use my locally found service and to send them the bill afterward I did this and to AAA's credit that reimbursed me 100 of the local cost Comment from : RJW 831 |

I'm not an RVer, but I really loved Progressive Ins for my car They're really awesome! They will cover road side assistance even if you lock yourself out of your car (and I did that once with the car running what can I say? smh ☺)brAnd they will cover your pets for hospital & vet care if they've been hurt in the event of an accident They really take care of you! The only thing now is, I really can't afford them They're very expensive And btw, I had an uncle who had an RV in Florida when I was a teenager I'm not sure if my cousins have one today But I had so much fun camping with them in Daytona beach and watched the 2nd ever shuttle takeoff The ground shook like an earthquake Oh the nostalgic memories!! 😆 Comment from : Dona 4 Him |

We have AAA because of the extreme inconvenience and very poor customer service and care And lack of resources and response from good Sam's club Have only had 1 issue in 5 years where I just got really mad and, just paid out of pocket for someone to purchase, and bring me the new starter and they even installed it for me Even though I was going to do it myself Comment from : Old school detailing llc Olsen |

What is the best Togo power for a 36 foot class a? I see there are many options and I’m confused Ie: how strong Comment from : Donny |

We tried to get Good Sam roadside assistance pre COVID twice Once in podunk TX and they never found us provider Finally called our home mechanic who walked us through the fix over the phone 🥴 Second time we ended up calling a tow co ourselves They said they won’t work with Good Sam because they reimburse at rate that makes it not worth the liability and time 🤔 Comment from : Deanna Lane |

Here is my 2 cents brWe had roadside included with our insurance We didn't pay any mind to the amount or anything as it just clicked in the back of our mind hey we have RSbr Before hitting the road we looked into it, thankfullyit was 100$ towing max HAbr For 8 bucks more we got 500 and we pick who does the towing Also, upped the amount of fuel from 5 gal to 10 And with the towing, if we just wanted towed to the nearest service or exit, it is free with no out of pocket but they chose who towsbr We haven't needed it yetbut as our rig gets older I am sure it's time is comingbr34' Dutch Star w/ 1 super slide Comment from : ThePeopleVerse |

We had a tire problem and stopped at Loves after seeing the signs for tire service on the highway Loves will NOT work on RVs This is a motorhome with 225" tires so where should we go? Fortunately, they had a reference that was 4 miles away and they did a great job at 4:30 on Friday afternoon Comment from : Mark Eckman |

Good Sam is horrible for a roadside assistance program but there are not many other options for a class A Rv We live in Canada and I was on the phone for two hours before they could find a place that they were agreeable to take my van when I told them I had a place lined up but they said it was too far Comment from : Amy Lenover |

👍😎🍻🇨🇦… cross our fingers not yet for roadside assistance… 🤞 Comment from : William Harries |

I have AAA Platinum and CoachNet Hands down CoachNet all the way My RV would not start in my driveway along the side of the house Coachnet sent a crew with three trucks to air it up, pull it out backwards from the side of the house and tow it 15 miles to Freightliner On my coach that requires dropping the drive shaft and having air to the system This is a 45' 56000 pound coach CoachNet DID NOT charge me anything They also called me every two hours to update me on the progress Because it was at my house I first had them try for a mobile service that could come out They were unable to find one and because I was in no rush, had a the tow trucks out the next morning AAA only pays up to $500 on the RV side This would have FAR exceeded that Comment from : South Florida Sound |

I had the same issue with good sam I called at the forget to confirm the tow company and I waited over 8 yrs for the tow Comment from : charlotte pritt |
|
We had to have our 38' pusher towed this summer on a Sunday Good Sam would not tow it to a repair shop that wasn't open to actually accept it , so we wanted it towed home which was actually closer than a repair shop We had to pay a substantial amount out of pocket to do that , but we appealed that decision afterward and eventually received a one time refund for the out of pocket cost since no repair shop was open It took about 4 hours for a tow to show up An fyi , the wrecker service will remove the driveshaft so it can be towed , but will not re-install it due to liability We probably should have used our Progressive Insurance roadside towing instead of our Good Sam roadside assistance Probably fewer headaches Comment from : Daniel Hahn |

We had a flat tire on our tow, called for service, the guy showed up……said he DID NOT HAVE TIME to access the spare from under the truck……and drove off! We were so lucky someone stopped and changed it for us!! Comment from : Roaming with Rover |

I have AAA Plus RV that covers my RV and trailer I have used AAA in the past and it will usually take an hour or two for a towing service to show up Depending on the area it can be an interesting tow; ensure that it is a reputable towing company using newer equipment and that your RV and trailer, if you have one, are not damaged during the tow as damage can easily occur especially if your RV is lifted high causing the rear of the RV or trailer to be drug when uneven surfaces are crossed brbrMy vehicle insurance also has a limited tow service coverage, which I would use if my tow went beyond the maximum coverage of my AAA tow coverage Comment from : Mike Capps II |

Just wondering which Togo power station and panel you went with Not sure which one since there are a few to choose from Thanks for the informative videos and tips! Comment from : Rick W |

We just bought a diesel pusher used but new to us Thank you for all of your information I do have a question that perhaps you can help with I heard there was a diesel gas card that would discount your diesel purchases at truck stops Is that true? Do you have any advice about that? Comment from : Roos Gramma |

Had similar Good Sam RA issue with them price shipping 3 hours later and me having to call back 3 times I finally asked to talk directly to wrecker service provider They told me Good Sam had called them twice, 1st time was 3hrs before and they only asked what charge was They had a truck available that could have been there within a half hour yet GS kept price checking I ended up taking off work and changing the tire myself on wife’s car This was 2 days before we were leaving on a 3000 mile trip with TT I called GS about the experience and a manager was supposed to call me back after reviewing call logs They never called back So much for peace of mind while towing I have tools to change tire and make basic roadside repairs but sometimes that’s not enough The wrecker company told me AAA RV was the best in their experience however my local AAA club doesn’t offer RV coverage Comment from : Kurt N |

Hello, just found your channel Thanks for sharing information Luke this As much as we would like to think we wouldn't need extra coverage But real life usually goes differently Comment from : Living-working Outside-box |

Last year I had a break down I have AAA Plus RV I waited 4 hours for a tow and no one showed called AAA again and they said they had no record of my call I finally just started calling around and found a local shop that was able to tow and repair my RV that was 30 mins away When I got the bill i sent it to AAA and had them reimburse me for the tow Comment from : Andy |

Informative info on the TOGO and Roadside AssistanceWe just saw that Good Sam has a 50 off special on roadside assistance for new customers which we are considering to purchase for our Grand Design 2500RL Just looking for comments on whether we should jump on this or if there is a better time of year to purchase roadside or if there is another company worth investigating over GS Comment from : Jennifer Simoniello |

Finally someone talking about RV roadside assistance brbrFirst of all, RV roadside service sucked before COVID and the increase in RVers Unless your rig is blocking traffic and the police summon a wrecker, you will wait for hours for a tow truck to arrivebrbrSecondly, insurance, any insurance, only exists if the insurer takes in more in premium than it spends providing service I don't know how many RVers I've heard that are running an older rig that plan and use roadside assistance as a crutch This is unsustainable It won't be long before RV road side assistance providers will have different rates for different rigs and full timers versus part timers, as well as claims history and deductibles brbrThird, most RV owners aren't very mechanically inclined This has 2 aspects 1) They don't inspect and maintain their rigs very well and 2) they can't fix anything if it breaks This means more rescue calls for tow companies, RV dealers and truck shops This is unsustainable brbrBottom line: maintain your stuff, carry spare parts, carry tools and become as self sufficient as possible The great thing about having a towed vehicle is that at least you have transportation when your MH breaks Comment from : TechGuy |
