For me its the way i was brought up (socioeconomic situation in my country plus my mother's 'scrooginess') the embedded values still havent caught up with the wealth ive accumulated thanks to my hard work at university and later on during my career so there you go- feeling guilty when i buy something expensive for myself even if its not the cheapest Prosecco 😅

wow this is such a relevant problem in my life ;-;bras a 13 year old that doesn't have a job but has a little bit saved up that im scared to spend a single dime because i also consider it a scarce rescource that & i end up overthinking what everything i buy- even if i REALLY wanted to go to a movie with my friends and the ticket was only $5 that would be enough to kill plans lol

I needed this video…after saving over 7 figures and Incurring no debt, at 75 ii find it so hard to spend it without going thru this whole routine of questions to qualify it for worth, bargain, do I really deserve it, need it I have issues seeing or RV sitting in storage, unused, watching how my kids

Totally agree I don't believe in being frugal for frugals' sake I will often times choose to spend more money on things that offer more value to me personally (or morally) For example everything is always cheaper on Amazon but I will always pay more for an item to buy it directly from the company rather than make them lose more of their profits to Amazon Or how I refuse to buy fast fashion clothing because it's cheap That mentality is exactly why people don't value fast fashion clothing (HM, F21, Zara, etc) and throw it out and the industry itself is incredibly wasteful and unethical in their labor practices I'd rather pay $150 for a sweater that was made by a company that pays their workers fair wages and uses innovative ideas to reduce waste in the process brbrJust things that I value over money To me, cost and worth are two totally different things
