Anybody help me out? I was pretty wild and immature when I was younger, dropped out, only got my ged because my family pushed me to get it I recently went through a depression faze and nobody liked it (I'm normally a happy guy) my best friends helped motivate me to achieve my goals in life, and a goal I want to do is take education serious and get a good degree because not graduating with my friends still bothers me and I want to make good money to buy my family and friends nice things and maybe one day buy a house What's the best route to make money that won't hurt my brain? I am an aerospace engineer ( specialise in engines ) , I worked in oil industry for fews years as my knowledge In physics and pression mechanics is very wanted in this field but oil engineering is paid well because it’s dangerous , yup , first you get the basic wages ( 100k-150k) than a bonus of 300$ every day you go to the oil field it self ( was in operation ), DST , than don’t forget you work 5 weeks on 5 weeks off It’s a Rota , last this was in oil fields in the desert 48 degree Celsius We had 5 deadly accident in the two years I was there Yup So yea , oil workers are paid lots event a normal labourer get around 50k a year It’s just the risk and labours are the ones more at risk as they do the manual job like dropping the pipes to depth , engineers we only go to the rig when our équipement is down and all heavy lifting stoped

I'm a chemist in the O&G industry and Petroleum Engineers do not live out in the middle of nowhere nor on rigs The vast majority work in corporate offices So in the US these would include places like Houston, Dallas, OKC, Denver, etc

Number 3 should be Tech Degrees instead of Computer Sciences because Tech degrees (Computer science, Information systems, information technology, software engineering, etc) in the tech industry those people eventually a lot of them fight for the same jobbrbrFor example, to be a software engineer in some startup company, CS grads fought with IS and IT grads eventhough IS doesn't really do programming as much as CS or IT, and sometimes CS grads even compete with Computer Engineers! Which is a whole lot differentbrI think its because the flexibility of tech degrees that allows the people to move freely? Like eventhough IS focuses on business side of Technology, if the person eventually got more interested, that person could just jump into software engineering because they got the basics and just sharpened it up themselves
