@luisrivera5314
Will it be good to finish a graphic design associate before the Bachelors in Civil Engineering or it will be a waste of time? Please i need your opinion as soon as possible

@TheWalkingSteakhouse
Very interesting that such a large portion of your courses weren't that interesting to you I studied civil engineering for 1 year before switching to mechanical engineering, and it was without a doubt the hardest decision I've had to make in my life so far Mainly because I started out with civil instead of mechanical engineering because I don't really care much about electronics and control, and civil basically has none of that And also because at my university there is a research group within structural engineering that looks at offshore structures with a big focus on hydrodynamic modelling of wind turbines and wave energy converters, which sounds super interesting and I could absolutely see myself doing thatbrbrBut the focus on fluid mechanics and wind turbines only starts when you get to the masters, and having to get through 2 years of courses and projects that for the most part didn't sound that interesting sounded like it wasn't worht it But having seen your experience of college it has made me reconsider whether or not I should be patient and go for the structural engineering masters instead of mechanical engineering

My high school did trimesters, so calling it quarters in college always sounded funny 😂

@CD-yr9jv
Are civil engineers respected in your country Here in the UK, everybody thinks the architect does everything
Comment from : @CD-yr9jv

@alexlarson2466
I strongly disagree- all those courses are fundamental to inherently understanding and thinking in an intuitive way as an engineer Just because you aren't using those topics specifically or solving an integral does not mean it should not be learned Working as an engineer is different, but it is critical to have the foundation from such classes at work And even if your specific job doesn't use topics from a class, does not deem it irrelevant to the field in general Also, Dynamics is not just for mechanical engineers It is an important subject to model many things in Civil projects as well
Comment from : @alexlarson2466

@joshuaculick7767
Are the academic classes hard ? Starting in August Want to prepare as best i can
Comment from : @joshuaculick7767

@zdvxgf
I wanted to be a civil engineer but I feel like I don't have the confidence to achieve it I'm only an average student I can understand topics but would took me weeks to fully grasp on it

the Kingdom of GOD is coming…“Silver is for the kettle, and gold for the furnace, but The LORD is the tester of hearts- Bible” your heart is like discovered silver, dirty and not pure, when silver is purified it is melted over and over, to the point that when it’s melted and glows red hot, it is pure enough to see your own reflection in the puddle, so also does the LORD purify your heart, till HE can see HIS own reflection in it, seek the LORD and be reborn, ask The LORD to renew and restore you, repent and be baptized for the forgiveness of sins, Jesus died so that our sins will be wiped away and so that we could be made new, seek The Kingdom of GOD for if you would be wise you would be wise for yourself, pick up your cross and deny your flesh and follow the path of GOD, for The Kingdom of GOD is at hand, in JESUS MIGHTY NAME Amen and Amen

Masters video when? LMAO
Comment from : @MiguinGineer

@philliptarantino7667
Hey Kienen, did you have any involvement with clubs in college (ie ASCE, AGC, XE, etc)? In my experience, industry professionals really advocated for students to get involved with engineering related clubs to have the ability to start networking with the industry and gain some experience more relatable to the real world Many friends gained internships and jobs out of college through some of these programs and in my experience it was a resume buster brbrI’m curious to know if your university/local industry (Washington and/or Hawaii) made any similar pushes toward club involvement I’d like to hear your perspective, and maybe this could be another video that goes along with this and the masters video 🤷‍♂️ brbrAnyway, sorry to write so much, and thanks for reading!
Comment from : @philliptarantino7667

@TheContemporaryClassroom
I LOVE this video I like that you proved you don't need a perfect GPA to be a successful engineer, and that most of it you don't even use! I was hoping that after your internship, the classes would become more relevant and useful, but alas that's college I definitely think you should do another one on your Master's to supplement your previous video

Hey Kienen, I'm currently a geotech EIT and wanting to switch to construction You mentioned wanting to get your PE license I'm debating switching into construction now or waiting until after I take the geotech PE exam and completing the required four years of experience for the license I'm currently at three years of experience, so almost there, but can't really see myself staying in geotech much longer What do you see as being the main benefit of having a PE as an engineer in construction? I've really enjoyed your videos Thanks!
Comment from : @kenmasterp
