Osmal F Lopez
Is everyone going to ignore the part where he shows a Naruto figurine when he said "Dragon ball Z" 👀
Comment from : Osmal F Lopez

Travis Whisson
This method typically tests lower level and maybe mid level (if you were to include some analysis) but you are working with more isolated declarative knowledge practicing lower levels like understanding and explaining which is incredibly inefficient compared to other interleaving techniques that utilise analysis, evaluation and creation which will automatically fill in those lower order gaps such as explaining, understanding and applying

Question Do you still have such a low hairline? That would be pretty awesome Why cut your hair so short if you have so much hair? I'm jealous

This is why professors doing a combination of research and teaching is a very good combination At first blush, it seems like teaching is a waste of a good researcher's time But actually, it's very hard just to sit in an office and continually lay golden eggs Explaining things to students often inspires, even among highly experienced practitioners
Comment from : Poly Hexamethyl

Roger Reeves
Very interesting and helpfulbrFor his part, Richard Feynman is a hero of mine I recommend his various books, serious and light-hearted brAs for your "a couple of different times", I have, for information, a couple of different sisters

I notice that I have been using this technique since the early days of my senior secondary education when I chose the Science Stream I would fill my notebook with numerous hints and keywords to help me remember concepts based on how my mind functions This was particularly important because sometimes I was the only one aware of my mind's tendency to make silly mistakes or get stuck when revisiting certain concepts

BeyondtheHorizon
All I know is that Thomas is a FINE MAN 😉 Feynman brbroad shoulders and everything😅

Hanged Man
Funny that supposedly Einstein said you needed to explain things in simple terms yet he never really explained relativity in simple terms Does that mean he didn’t understand it?
Comment from : Hanged Man

Piyu Bhagat
I was doing the same thing every time even before knowing what feynman technique is 😎

I feel as though I use this technique through what I currently study and attempt to teach I get good responses from my students as I’m always trying to explain in the most simplified/ relatable way Subscribed 😊

Icarus
I did this when I was a kid, except with fiction books I read I liked reading, but noticed that nothing would stick—so I figured that the reason was because as soon as I closed the book I would just never think or talk about the book The problem was no one was into what I was reading, this was before the internet was so popular, so I would just talk to myself after the session as if I was explaining what I read to someone My reading retention definitely improved, but my parents were worried for a while
Comment from : Icarus

RAJEEV RANJAN
I have finding it tough to self study and be able to clearly understand what I read And so I came to watch this video I hope this helps me brSummary: Feynman technique to learnbrbrTo understand something clearly, you should be able to explain it simplybrFour steps of Feynman technique:br1 Write the concept headingbr2 Explain it in simple language Do examples to practice your conceptbr3 Identify problem areas ie area that halted your explanation, and go back to the source material, do examples to understand it clearlybr4 Try to break down technical terms and complicated language in simple termsbrbrThis technique helps to identify:br* areas where your knowledge is soundbr* shaky areas

M 808avgjoe53
Mr Feynman was a simple pragmatic person That's why he was a great Teacher A pragmatic way of dealing with something is based on practical considerations, rather than theoretical ones A pragmatic person deals with things in a practical way Yeah, he was smart He studied all the time He was always curious about the little things Studied until he knew them well And being a modest simple man, could explain to you and me, WHY it is what it is

Point 4 is where someone learning a musical instrument tends to not go The physical/technical difficulty distracts the mind from the simple, musical effect that is needed I am not sure if that comment helps any, though

Frank Koslowski
In my opinion, a good teacher does not merely pass on knowledge like any odd piece of information, brbut rather more his teaching programs the students' brains by virtue of exposure to his lecture, brand thus imprints the abilities of the teacherbrIt's like the apprentice becomes, if not a cognitive clone, but at least a verifiable duplicate of his master and the tenets conveyed 😮brIn reference to the question "Why?",brideally it ought not even to be asked, because an open mind will learn anything swiftly as a result of the willingness to expose itself to the subjectbrI believe it is a fundamental quality worth cultivating for the purpose of omniscient learningbrThat is to address a broad range of subjects, as was here the case this morning, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computing, and Physics, brthereby cheerfully assuming that all the deeper understanding retained from a prior career in Electronic Engineering was somehow still accessible, brignoring the fact that yesterday was Gym DaybrSome people may well appreciate what such brutish activity can do to the refined mind 😪brUnless a Crowbar method of some sort boots it up to the level of remembering details of the material studied last weekend 🤨
