“High Bun”😂brThis is a great over view for general CNA work brIn maine we do have sit-to-stands, hoyer lifts, and hospital beds/ bed rails (bed rails less often due to safety concerns- they may no longer be allowed due to many injuries and deaths), as long the client has a doctors order and documented safety plan for those assistive devices brWe also have Personal Support Specialists (PSS- Maine certified, unlicensed entry level direct care provider- short version of a CNA), CRMA ( Certified registered medication aid- passes medications, provided medical treatments etc A maine certified short version med tech) Both of these certifications allow you to work in level 1-3 assisted living facilities, and group home, but are not (generally) accepted at officially designated nursing homes and at hospitals (CRMA cannot be utilized in private care or home care settings) Comment from : Geoffery ONeil |
|
I am a private duty PCA in ALF & YES…my resident has a hospital bed because he’s a double amputee! He doesn’t have a Hoyer lift but he does use a sliding board for transfers, because he’s 2 people assist! brbrI guess it depends on the state the person resides in Comment from : Katrina Barber |

I went to CNA school I'm currently working as a home health aide 1 on 1 works best for me I don't like working at facilities, nursing homes, hospitals I prefer to work with the client alone in his or her home I really don't like when family is in the home I love 1 on 1s it's less stressful You don't have to deal with many interactions Comment from : Cupcake 🧁 |

I’m In Ny and it’s very hard to get hired as a new CNA in a hospital 🏥, they want you to have 1-2 full years of experience The Nursing homes are always short staffed so they hire new CNA’s all the time However the agency’s pay 💰 more than the nursing homes Some agency’s start from 25-30$ per hour to start, and you can make your own schedule, work close to home and the pay is weekly ❤😊 Comment from : NY TriGGer |

And study stuff before u take cna classes like blood-borne pathogens that’s actually one of the main things you need to know for ur bls before u take ur cna classes 143 take care of ur selfs and be kind to others Comment from : SHADOW1️⃣9️⃣9️⃣3️⃣3️⃣7️⃣ |
|
As a cna that is now in a hospital and started off at a nursing home DO NOT START OFF THERE IT MADE ME BURNOUT OF ADULTS start off by becoming a sitter you WILL still get the same experience with more downtime and less body stress and mental and emotional stress nursing and CNA are very different which is why she didn’t mind the nursing home Comment from : SHADOW1️⃣9️⃣9️⃣3️⃣3️⃣7️⃣ |
