Hi Richard, have you hears of "Tally Sticks" apparently tally sticks were used as a sort of currency i think, Bill Still has lots of info on the subject He even went behind closed doors at BofE and he was shown (and the viewer) the only Two Tally Sticks left in existence, apparently all the thousands of tally sticks where stored in Westminster Hall and what do you know? I have been postulating Labour backed alternatives to CBDC for some time The main barrier I see to sufficient uptake is how compliant, in general, the majority of the country is, and will stitch up a neighbour for ‘breaking the rules’ It is one thing when a currency such as the Vogel is sponsored by the town council say for example, but when all the major trading outlets are corporate run entities and not privately run enterprises (as these have been hammered by the lockdown etc), and the councils are all run by rainbow flag waving loons, the problem becomes much more difficult Not impossible, but difficult Would your landlord or local shop accept them, not forgetting that your local shop has to purchase goods on the open market? Key items such as food would have to be traded from source and we can see how the PTSB are restricting food production and destroying thousands of years of land stewardship with these ridiculous rewilding projects, grants to stop farmers producing food, and all the other gumph they have degraded the food production system with over the last fifty years or so

Did 'we' not invent tokens in the late 18th century because the GB mint was not making small denomination coins due to the Napoleonic wars Token has a different legal status I believe I also seem to remember that the same thing happened in the 2nd century in the Roman empire when the currency was so devalued and scarce that local kingdom/tribal money such as Dacian silver coinage was preferred
