I just read an article that stated as long as you don't remove any of the silver on a coin or damage the relief of any part thereof, you can certainly increase the value at times to a higher grading by removing said dirt and grime thus revealing more detail that could or might be hidden It recommended soaking in olive oil or soapy water for days, sometimes weeks, removing with a light brush (I use a toothbrush) and a clean cut-up t-shirts Comment from : lantie |

Idk I think its super dumb that we cant clean circulated coins I mean cleaning a dinged up old coin how does that make it *worse*? At least cleaning it makes it look nicer I get it with the ones that are uncirculated and proof and I get for silver stackers that the “dirt” can add up in $$ because a lot of it can be that small difference in weight but beyond that Comment from : Keb Lee |
