I'm no genius, but it sounds like this is a "mental disorder" my grandfather would've described as a child raised with no consequences for bad behavior My mom reacted this way to everything & controlled our lives for years When she came into my home as an adult & threw a tantrum, I took her aside & explained that her behavior was not acceptable in my house Never happened again Years of this behavior with no correction just becomes a habitual way of life Comment from : Lori Fulbright |
I know what I need to do to do better Fear keeps me put Its frustrating Internal struggle to the max, feeds depression and no motivation Comment from : Cristen K |

“We don’t know much about borderline personality disorder “ why?! I have this and I’m tired of going online and looking for help and hearing this Other than that, looking at comments people say “run” “they aren’t capable of love” “ they aren’t capable of being sorry” and much more We love too much that’s a fact! We aren’t a fucking cancer or something that should be shunned Start helping us because the help that’s available isn’t good enough We have children to stay alive for and deserve for people to spend time and figure o it how to fucking help us If I have hope at all for someone to do this, it’s this guy! I’d do anything to be able to talk to Jordan Peterson for even a day! Comment from : Elizabeth Bauer |

Married to a BPD female What he said about temper tantrums made me sad I clearly recall witnessing my 3 year old nephew throw a temper tantrum, and my instinctive first thought was "Holy shit, he has much better control of his negative emotions at 3 years old than my wife does at 28" Comment from : elijaprice Balls |
my partner has it, the 2 people don't know each other - she doesn't even know when it's happeningbrthe no solutions thing he said is very real, I don't know if it's because people have always put her down or taken responsibility away from her but she definitely doesn't want to acknowledge situations Comment from : Adam Glegg ♅ |

BPD people just have anger issues Usually this acting out comes at a crossroad of where they was suppose to succeed but are so full of hate they are self destructive Graduating high school and expected to go to college or on the last year of college and unable to finish Their identity of what they planned to be is wiped away and the whole world is going to pay Comment from : Stop doing that Here, let me do it |

Amber Heard Comment from : Nancy Przybyl |
Jordan Peterson barely has a grasp on BPD and it's obvious He should've avoided the question again instead of labeling and insulting those struggling with it as 2 year old's An adult BPD wave has much different origins than a 2 year old temper tantrum Maybe Jordan Peterson would know that if his work wasn't so shallow with a heavy focus on external image and fitting into society vs a healthy individual on the inside Anyone looking for a real psychologist that can help with BPD, Dr Judy Ho from MedCircle is excellent! Comment from : Jade Rampulla |

people with the "borderline syndrome" perfectly understand your problems, but they cannot solve them because the time has not yet come, when the time will come they will solve them (this is a purely religious phenomenon), not a single secular psychotherapist will understand what is the matter, his iq simply does not enough Comment from : borodatborodat |
Yes you are spot on! Thats me! Growing up was slowly watching my dad develop BPD, poor man got wiped out by a drunk driver and lost his leg 3 years before i was born, we all suffered, me and my brother were also diagnosed with autism as well as me being diagnosed with ADHD, i honestly still to this day cannot fathom how I haven't ended up the same, i never used to go outside because I'd just wait for the madness to start so i can throw myself in the middle and try and stop itbrbrHonestly if you're a parent and are suffering get help, also if you drink and drive it's not just a person you'll kill but you'll create a life tike of suffering for an entire family Comment from : Liam Emptage |

Hypothesis (based on some experience on the topic): there is trauma AND a genuine neural bias towards zero sum games Due to high IQ, both are masked Comment from : Tommi Elo |
It seems like there is some distaste of people with this disorder displayed by Dr Peterson here Maybe I’m over sensitive, but I wonder if there is some sense of shame that you think is necessary for these people because of the lack of socialization they have or based on the recent trend in the increase of this disorder Is that true, and/or are you indicating some sadness and discomfort from the poor prognosis seen in the disorder? I’m worried I may be in this group (yeah over diagnosis and stuff), my parents and dad in particular were really really upset after someone messed up a case where our family would have taken home 500,000$ I was since diagnosed with Asd when I was 4 or 5, and I’ve never felt quite right What makes you certain the outcome for poorly socialized children is bleak? Comment from : Justin W |

Spot on A lot of BPS are more intelligent, and are very good at analyzing and knowing the facts, but are not capable of implementing the solutions People are already not doing what they 'must' do, even though they know they 'should' because of their own biases But I think a person with a BPS, better to call it an emotional regulation disorder, has even more trouble than the average person brbrThere are 256 possibilities in BPS I wonder if IQ and the types of BPSs (there are 4 or 5 types, depending on research) gives any coherences I think it will I see it also with normal people And I don't want to be rude But I see 'normal' people with normal or lower IQ and EQ react more from the reptile brain, and are more extrovert, impulsive, and dishonest When the higher IQ/EQ has a more internal dialog and not so verbal That BPS type would harm themself more, but probably are more manipulative as well (because they think things through to get the most benefit) brbrI also wonder which type experiences the most pain in life The BPS with a higher IQ because they feel rejected and think things over and over what they do wrong or how to turn things around and how to do it socially, or the normal or lower IQ/EQ that is mad and feels the world is against her/him and is severe black and white in thinking? brbrI'm not agreeing with the tantrum It depends on the characteristics of the BPS combination and it can be changed brBut it requires work (therapy), willingness, and capability (skills) to learn and do otherwise Comment from : SuzyQ |
Here's how you deal with ppl with BPD - Run, don't look back, never allow them into your life, cut off all ties, never allow them to be in a position to hurt you They cannot be helped and they will draw you to the bottom with them They can't be dealt with, can't be reasoned with, can't be helped They are the poison that dissolves all that touches Keep them at bay (married to a bpd for nearly 20 yrs) Comment from : Robert Tauzer |
Any woman diagnosed with borderline should make sure that her therapist was thorough because there’s a good possibility that she is actually high functioning autistic A lot of women with autism get misdiagnosed as borderline Of course, there’s also the possibility that they could be comorbid and have both conditions I love Dr Peterson and it’s touching when he gets tears in his eyes when he talks about what’s happening to young men in our society, but if he understood the horror and trauma and abuse that it takes to cause a young woman to become borderline, he might shed a few tears for us toobrAbout the being intelligent and understanding what you need to do to solve your problem and yet not being able to do it is relatable There are huge executive function problems with borderline Comment from : Amelia B |
I have this crap I cant take it anymore If i died it would be better for all Comment from : Thomas Campbell |

It’s heartbreaking to have so much potential to be helpful to others and achieve academic success be absolutely destroyed by this illness which I’ve had diagnosed since 2016 Intense emotions and self perception shifting all the time is incredibly challenging Super exhausting Hence why suicide is the default when I’m burnt out I feel so much guilt for how I’ve mistreated people in my life and how I’ve been treated I continue to be my own abuser with this condition but am doing my best to not be a statistic Love to all who have bpd or a negative experience with a borderline person Comment from : Natalie M |
My solution for people with BPD ,after encountering atleast multiple of them, to my grave misfortune, is to find other habitable planets and either they move there or we do because there is no way to live with them or around them , under any condition or for any reason This solution is the best for both the parties They get to self destruct without putting the blame on anyone and the normals get to live with mindnumbing level of calm , peace and sanity Comment from : Primary |
