Ok So she's dead The issue with inner city children is not the lack of resources, it's the destruction of the nuclear family People need to invest in themselves and their futures over quick money and material items Not a single democrat is willing to say that "systemic poverty" is driven by poor choices and broken families

I always apologize to my kids if I mess up I ask for forgiveness and my favorite response I ever got was “Of course Mrs Stafford! Everyone makes mistakes!” ♥️brAnd every year I tell my second graders that they are the best students and that I’m the best teacher and that’s why we’re all together - IT WORKS!!! They all leave my classroom with confidence and self-worth!! They truly believe in themselves ♥️

As a teacher of nearly two decades, I understand when she said that students don't learn from teachers they don't like However, this is not universally true As a soldier of over three decades, I have first hand knowledge and experience that servicemen and women learned a lot from their basic training instructors, not because they like them, but rather because they RESPECTED them Liking is not a prerequisite to learning, although it does make it much easier

I am a class room teacher I just love to monitor Ms Pierson; especially when she said kids don't learn from people who they don't love This means that there must be a strong class room relationship between the teacher and the students As a teacher, you are equally a parent for the kids you manage through the academic period Rest in peace our great teacher

-18 takes the life out of you but +2 makes you think it aint all that bad was my favorite part Negative intervention often cements pre-existing bias espically in youths, so, if you emphasize their failure it will cement their negative attitute towards the subject if one existed already or at very least will serve to discourage them

First time I heard this Ted talk, I was in uni and now I’m a full time teacher I always come back to this and it helps me to be able to focus I’ve had a tough time at my job, but Rita always comes to mind “every student needs a champion” ❤

"while you won't like em all, the kids can never ever know it" I used to work in a residential Tx facility for teens and coworker often asked how I so easily developed rapport with kids and won them over I told them that I did my darnedest to convince every kid seeing them was the BEST part of my day; and doubly so with the difficult ones
