QuestionI'm still learning so just watched your video (great btw) because it popped up But is every self taught developer out there a web developer? Because I'm not sure I'm interested in web development as much, specially considering how quickly things change (even in a fast-changing field as programming) But it seems almost everyone aspires to web development and wondering if I should go that route to get a job asap (as soon as I have the skills of course, in a year at least!)

Hello, i tried to apply for anything actually in my domain for a software developer and a general progamming job In most cases i took an email that said you dont have expierence(which i don't) and when i finally got into some interviews and got to the second part where they ask about your hard skills in the first one i made a fool of myself and in the second one i answered most of them correctly but i didnt had any idea about the "extra" skills they needed(after all it's an entry job) Some here i am now without a job currenty my master's It's really important to say that in my country all male candidates have to go to army or you can't land a job

Thanks for what you said about job listings I'm self taught and considering one final push to get into the industry I'm already more or less qualified for a junior position but I need to finish up and learn a stack rather than just the fundamentals of a few languages So far I applied to one job and totally bombed on the interview Apparently there was a miscommunication about what the job actually was, yet this was not discussed until the 4th interview which was a group panel

I got fired from my first developer job because it was a small startup with REALLY smart people and everyone on my team was 4-5 years into their careers and I was just starting out (I do have a BS in CS but never did an internship so finding my first job was damn hard) I thought that having 7 months FT experience I would find a job rather soon but mostly getting ghosted or rejected and the few I did interview at even making the final interview was rejected Getting really demoralized
