The dealer brings up a good point - I wonder if there would be any suppression on the free flow of information if and when the next banks go down - it will probably be smaller ones at that so they could kind of keep the news on the first dominos couldn't they? Pure speculation but the question is worth asking in this "news" cycle ;)

I think the shortage is another intentional manipulation of the market to keep premiums as is on the big bullion stockpiles of junk i know they have been sitting on Just like the diamond market; release only a little bit at a time on something relatively common to keep prices high I just submitted a buy back quote request for $300 FV to APMEX They said it doesn't meet their $5000 minimum Either APMEX is paying less than 1667 per $1FV or they are only buying $5000 FV at a time In either instance, it makes me believe they have much more than they lead on to believe And don't really need more, even though they make you believe there is a serious shortage Weird

The other day I finally opened a small bank that I had at my grandparents house when I was young My grandmother had died 20 years ago and I retrieved my small bank when we cleaned out her home Under her mattress was four large envelopes with each of us grandkids names on them and inside each was 20 silver dollars Getting home, I had put up my small bank in a closet and kind of forgot about it The other day I was going through the closet and decided to unlock the bank and see what I had put in it years ago 1 silver dollar, 6 silver halves, 9 silver quarters, 31 silver dimes, all 90, 15 nickel nickels, and 54 old one cent pieces as well as an old $5 and 4 $1s 😊 these coins went back into the little bank and not into my stack👍

I was at a yard sale a couple of years ago and watched a fella sell his grandfather's collection of 90 half dollars to a friend of mine who had beat me to the sale He bought 101 half dollars for $100 each The seller at the yard sale thought that he was doubling his money, and my friend was happy to let him think so I just stood there shaking my head but couldn't make a better offer or my friend would have gotten pissed off at me!!

When my uncle passed many years ago I ended up with a bunch of quarters that he had I was addicted to this video game at 7-11 at the time and ended up putting dozens of them into it They were all 90 silver I thought they were weird because they sounded and felt different but the game took them so I didn't care It was bad enough how many regular quarters I was using, can't imagine how much actual $ I ended up spending on it I eventually got good enough I could make it all the way to the end and play about 40 minutes on 1 quarterhaha

I know a guy that has quite a bit of 90 that he wants to sell He got it from his father in law when he passed 6 years ago I got to see a small part of it today The man was a banker in the 60's when there was tons in circulation and he kept all of it when it came to the bank Half dollars alone are around 500 face value I may be able to buy them for $9 each it sounds likebut I only can afford buying around $2000 worth He has everythingdimes, quarters, war nickles, halves, Peace and Morgans, and a one inch stack of 1,2 5, and 20 bills from 30's, 40's, 50's 60's etc
