The only time I've had a broken heart outside of love was selling my 1989 Larrivée I paid $1800 for it Worth 7 to 10 thousand now The Canadian ones the best Cheers on showing them Comment from : Kevin |

My 2001 SWDGT IS my forever acoustic guitar! I've owned several brands over the years - Gibson, Yamaha, Alvarez Yairi, Guild, and Taylor - and while each had its pros and cons (the Yairi smelled like an Irish pub!), this Martin really sparkles - especially for the money It was kinda beat up, with one big ding in the cherry side and a little worn around the pickguard But for only $400 and after installing a Fishman Ellipse Blend pickup system, I can now say it's the best-sounding unplugged AND plugged-in acoustic guitar I've ever owned Guitars may come and go, but as I learned the hard way with my '59 LP Jr double cut - never let the truly great ones go Comment from : Richard Bruce Music |
Best Martin for the money thats easy buy a yamahabrThe reason I say that is Martinseven d28 are inconsistentbrand not the most reliable over timebrThe best guitar shop in Toronto sells 5 or 6 a monthbrso they order 10 and send back 3 or 4brThe old ones are really nice though Comment from : Bill Braun |

In 2022, the Martin D-10E Sika top It feels and plays like a $3000 guitar for under a grand It is ridiculous how balanced it is I honestly thought it had the price tag for a cheaper model on it and asked the salesman He informed me it was in fact the right price and went in to tell me how I am not the first person to ask that and told me it has become their best selling guitar Comment from : Troe Montana |
They have so many good guitars Comment from : YAKMAN ONT |

Hi Jeremy I am looking for my first Martin and Want to hear your thoughts on 000-15SM I only owned a 2001 Taylor 310CE and a 1995 412E which were sold for GS mini Mahogany I love the sound of an all Mahogany and thought about the Martin that I mentioned My heart is set out to find this guitar and where I live there are no dealer store that carried it in stock I want to hear what your take on this Martin Comment from : Mario Javier |
Amo le chitarre grazie delle tue belle storie e le belle chitarre Comment from : Enrico Cecchi |
Thank you I love this video and can relate My first real acoustic is a 1997 Martin SWD (now called SWDGT) I love this guitar and took about 2-3 years to open up and WOW open up it did I’ve no interest in another Martin model as this is my main acoustic guitar I did purchase another 1998 SWD as it came up for sale in Reverb as a backup The SWD Cherry back and sides with the solid spruce tops sings with bell like harmonics I love this acoustic and I think the SWD/ SWDGT is Martins’ best kept secret Comment from : Redentor Jimenez |
In 1993 I walked into the local shop to buy an HD-28 I see this Martin with a satin finish called a D-1 It listed for $1,000 I wouldn’t even pick it up Some guy started finger picking it and it was LOUD I prayed he’d put it down That was the first year for the lower priced Martin and the first model It was the model they brought back the old bracing I walked out with a $700 guitar over a 28 I still own it My wife has a D-28 and we never touch it The D-1 is the go to I’ll never sell it It kind of glossed up with some guitar cleaner and everyone thinks it’s a vintage D-18 when they hear it Comment from : BulldoggerJK |
Man, your guitar sounds like a classical sitar on the run for a great show Appreciate your honesty and point blank explanation 🙏 Comment from : SAMUEL JACOPASTORIA |
Really love this video ❤️ Comment from : Mjolnir Carlssen |
I would always buy a classic D28 or 00028 if you prefer a smaller body The sound will be outstanding and if you ever change your mind, a classic will hold its value Comment from : Jens Bethel |
I know the guitar sounds beautiful but in the video, there was a little too much of something Almost like it projected too much bass or bottom end Maybe there was an echo in the room or something Great guitar though Comment from : Dane Allan |
I know this is an old video, but what kind of strings worked best on your SWDGT? I've had one for 10 years and still searching for the right strings I play mostly rhythm, little fingerpicking Comment from : Richard Bruce Music |

I've been watching your videos like crazy the past week and love them 💖🙏💖 I've never really been a Martin guy for some reason 🤷 I've always been into Taylor guitars, but after watching so many of your videos, I've really really been considering buying a Martin Comment from : Joe Morton |
Thanks for the story I gave a Takamine to a young guy and friend who was about to go into seminary back in 2014 He still has that same guitar and 0lays it every week in his church where he pastors So he learned guitar on it and now uses it for the glory of God Comment from : FatBoy Follies |

I have an SWD Red Birch that is great , and did not break the bank getting it Sounds a little like a D18 but woodier Comment from : Larry Underwood |
I have a $1200 Seagull circa 06, and a $1200 Ovation Elite from the 80's as well as having owned numerous other brands including Gibson, and Guild, and recently I bought a $170 Ibananez AW54 on ebay on a whim and guess what? It's an $50,000 dollar sound out of a sub $200 guitar Jeremy!! It's the best sounding guitar in the house and my best friend who plays a very very expensive handmade acoustic by the top guy at Martin had to admit it's damned impressive for the price!! My God man it's so good I"m having it done with bone in the nut and bridge and this Okoume wood has the most awesome longest lasting sustain I've ever experienced in any acoustic guitar! Now I ask you in all honesty? How is this possible? My friends custom was $45,000 bucks and doesn't play or sound any better!! Comment from : Troy Taylor |
By a Taylor !!!! Comment from : Trevor G Welch |
Hopefully, he will buy a Bourgeois instead Comment from : Bluegrass Point of View |
Used is best, I have a 1980 00-25 Koa for $1,500 and figure its worth over $4,000 plays and sounds great! Also have a 1986 MC-28 which I like better than a D-28 for $1,200, which I will not sell!brBuy Used for your best deals Comment from : Peter Broderson |

I come from a really poor background and the most I've been able to use the last half a year or so is a $50 piece of garbage It's not much but I definetely want to get a proper good acoustic eventually :) Comment from : Oscar Hussey |
The one you fall in love with and can't put down Or the one (OM-1) you took off the wall and fell in love with but didn't buy and wonder what happened to it 30 years later and still kick your ass for not taking it home where it was supposed to go Or the X000 sitting beside me that I pick up and play along with videos when the spirit moves me It sounds good and plays great and I don't need a $2000 plus guitar to sit and around and hum and strum to myself So the best for the money is subjective and depends on how and what you use it for Comment from : Ray Holden |
Love mine Comment from : David Ward |

When I was looking at guitars in the $1000-1500 range, I played many that were much more Settled on a Martin D-16GT listed $1100 It sounded and felt better than Gibsons, Taylor’s and Takamines that were twice the price That was 10 years ago and the guitar sounds even better now It’s my forever guitar! Comment from : nuthinfancy |

I have been playing guitar for a little while now and just became a Younglife leader in TN I’ve been looking for a guitar more suitable than my $200 fender to play at Younglife meetings (been looking at Gibson, Martin, and Taylor) and hearing you mention that you took this Martin and played at YL makes me feel like Martin is the way to go Thanks for the video! Comment from : Brandon Ryan |
I have played tenor guitars since 1965 I started with a used Silvertone until it was stolen from my car I saved up and finally ordered a custom Martin baby dreadnought made with Polynesian KOA, European spruce top and electric pick up It still has that distinct Martin sound after 35 yrs and continues to mature in quality I also have a used Gibson tenor from 1962, and had a NY luthier make me an 8 string electric octave tenor on a Les Paul style solid body with a beautiful Sunburst finish I have a variety of other 4 string instruments ie Bill McNally Paduc chromatic strumstick, 3 string diatonic strumstick, & a beautiful Zebrawood Bari Uke All quality instruments Just subscribed and looking forward to future posts Comment from : WDS Poppy |
Jeremy I would like to build a sound system to go with my guitar What are the basic components and what are the good brands for you? Comment from : Tek Novae |
That Martin is gorgeous I have a blue Art & Lutherie acoustic with a cedar top that, even though it is a straight up budget guitar, especially by price, it plays big, it sounds big, and it is just feels like home in my hands when I play it Sometimes even lower end guitars can become best friends for life That doesn’t stop me from dreaming of finding my own Martin one day, mind you Great video, keep up the excellent work! Comment from : astewart |
I've got a jumbo swglove it Comment from : Robert Quinn |
