American here, had never heard of Jessica Ennis before, had somehow managed to watch this live in the US, and still 10 years later it's one of the most incredible sports moments I've ever seen Just the noise as she came down the final straight; and most of the time you can't say this without it being complete BS, but she literally DECIDED TO WIN An all-time Olympic moment

It’s so crazy watching this in 2020 with Ennis-Hill and Thiesen-Eaton retired, Daphne Schippers now exclusively a sprinter (and one of The Greats, at that!), and hopefully 🤞🏼 a HUGE battle brewing beetween Johnson-Thompson and Nafi Thiam for the postponed games in 2021 brbrThe London games were maybe my favorites of all times We got both breadth AND depth of coverage here in the States There were so many good sportsmanship moments It really was a Games for the ages
