Went with Marella, all inclusive Flight, shuttle, food, drinks etc Adults only Was great to see if we liked cruise ships Mapped our own way at all the ports, lots to do close by Though we prefer to travel and stay in countries, taking it all in, hoping on a no frills flight to another place for a bit, we will be doing TUI or P&O Mediterranean soon Comment from : Claire ___ |

Hi , you might have already done a video about the following but if not it could be interesting to do one about the fluctuations of the prices between high and low seasons I suppose if you look for a cruise which is very family with kids oriented price might be very different if you book during the school holidays or when they are all at school ? brOr even months like september (nearly the end of summer) in Europe when people are back to work and kids back to school prices might really drop no ? Comment from : King K |

Simple rules don’t get on a ship next 😮🙏👍😉😉😉😉😉 Comment from : Prancer |

I've booked my first cruise I go in November (late spring in Aussieland)! brWe've chosen Princess, because we want neither the go-cart track/waterslides mass market lines, nor the price tag of the luxury lines Premium lines seem to be the category for us The 'Small cruise lines' category might suit us, but may be too expensive The 6 star cruise lines would be lovely if we could afford itbrSo on Gary's advice we chose Princess We might try P&O Australia too Comment from : Julia Tarrel |

Advise on a walking tour without paying Can I just follow the group? Comment from : Robin Rocha |

We had the most fun on the alaska cruise, yes more fun than the Caribbean There were 4 of us Comment from : Connie Byes |

You gut some good information but you have way too much talking head Your face talking really does nothing to add to the video In fact if you didn't use a face at all that would be better It's about the cruise not a talking head Comment from : Smart Money Wins w/ Dan Sherbondy |

Good stuff, thank you for sharing Comment from : Hokus Pokus |

I'm going on a cruise for the first time in the Baltic sea with P&O but most of the tours are walking tours so I don't think it ie worth paying £80 My plan is to explore on my own Comment from : Andrew May |

Question about excursions:brOn a Royal Caribbean cruise, we find a package that costs 100 dollars per person for a train from the port of Civitavecchia to Rome It's called "Express Train to Rome"brAfter a short check I found out that the train station is a 10 minute walk from the port and the price for the train to Rome costs 9 euros per person round tripbrUntil now I don't understand why they charge 100 dollars per person for just transportation and some guidance on places to visit in Rome I guessbr You can buy train tickets independently and save a lot of moneybrAm I missing something here? I challenged myself to spend NO extra money on a cruise once It was our third Disney cruise, or something, so we had been there, done that, and bought the souvenirs We were doing great until I realized I had forgotten a pen for my daughter‘s character autograph book We couldn’t get a pen for free for some weird reason, so we bought one for $695 I still have that pen, ten years later 😂 But we really did have a $695 bill at the end! (We prepaid grats, of course) Comment from : Jahber |

I made up my mind years ago as an unattached female that I would never go on an ocean cruise because if anything bad happened to me, there wouldn't be anyone I could rely on for protection I watched a 60 minutes segment about a young woman and her mother who went on an ocean cruise According to the segment, a ship employee raped the girl, but no attempt she or her mother made at redress had any effect While a cruise ship may have security personnel, it doesn't have police and isn't subject to any kind of law like that That soured the whole idea for me Comment from : Camille Szalma |

Thank you so much for your guidance 🙏🏽 I've recently booked our first cruise with P&O, departing from Auckland NZ & visiting the South Pacific (New Caledonia, Vanuatu etc) I didn't book the balcony room I wanted, Instead settled with the Oceanview room - to allow for the $ difference for a few excursions I'm very grateful P&O have gifted a complimentary birthday cake & have waitlisted us for a room upgrade (if possible) Comment from : S M |
Solid information Comment from : NoLongerBlah |

Hi love your videos I wonder could you speak to Fred Olsen cruises? There is a cruise for 23 days to Iceland that I am looking at Thank you Comment from : daydreambeliever |

You forgot about Australia mate Pacific Islands should be added to this listbrbrNot all Aussies can fly halfway across the world to get on a cruise that costs less than the flights to get us there Comment from : Ben M |
11:40 this is not always true We went on a P&O cruise to the Baltic in 2018 and our inside cabin price dropped by nearly £900 (total price for 2 people) after we had already booked I contacted their customer service and they refused to do anything It got to the point where I even asked for a drink voucher or something similar as a good will gesture and they still refused! Because of this I will never travel with P&O ever again Comment from : Marge010 |
Maybe you don't Cruise at all? Would be better for everyone :^) Comment from : sTyLe_ TEX |

Hi Gary, Thanks for all your guidance, advice and tips, it is most appreciated Question I have for you is: What is the policy if your cruise fails to call to a port and you have pre-booked an excursion with the cruise operator? Is it reimbursed? Comment from : Jim Tough |
Those cruise areas are just too far away, I think the South Pacific or maybe Asia would be a better option Comment from : footscorn |
I will never do a cruise! I got claustrophobic just by looking at the images! The lack of control, the fact that you are at their will It makes me fell helpless! I don’t even like to book hotels that don’t have a kitchenette so I can cook in case I need! Comment from : Serra do Japi |
Well this has definitely convinced me cruising is absolutely not worth the hassle 😄 Comment from : John Turner |
I did the Caribbean cruise as my first, it was fantastic I went through a travel agency and asked a lot o questions I was going solo and I wanted an experience that didn’t have set meal times with the same people Norwegian cruise line was awesome for my needs, I didn’t realize how the excursions worked but got into it right away and ended up enjoying everything They even had gatherings for single people to meet people who are doing the same thing, it was a good opportunity to network and find people to go on excursions and join for meals My regret was not reading the ships event papers from the start I missed out on a few things I would have like to participate in on board Going through an agency may not be the cheapest method, but they are pretty knowledgeable on what type of trip you might be expecting and they make all the arrangements so you don’t have to think about all the different stuff like: cruise tickets, plane tickets, insurance, gratuities, transportation to and from air port Everything is discussed and worked out upon your interview with agency, makes for smooth sailing as first timers Comment from : itrasheditgood |

I just started watching your channel, and I have lots of questions I haven't been on a cruise yet, but my partner and I are looking to take our first one together Is there a cruise line that is more gay friendly than another? Is it wrong to book a cruise that has several sea days, because that is what we most look forward to? For longer cruises, if they stay at port for 24+ hours, are hotel accommodations included in the price of the cruise? Do you recommend expedition cruises? Thanks!! Comment from : TrinkaD |
Im going on my first cruise I wish I found your videos before I booked but I think I did ok after watching I picked my own room and I made sure it was away from anything super loud thanks for all the tips I have many more to watch!!! Comment from : Charlie Kuhns |

I always advise to have at least balcony a cabin and to pick the cabin's location When was your first cruise and what cruise line? My first was Southern Carribean from San Juan This was in Oct 94 The sihp was called " The Regent Sun" It was tiny 25 thousand tonnes, but to me - it was huge😅 My last ocean cruise was on Harmony of the seas - the other side of spectrum Comment from : Anita Beata Vlog Life in Canada 🇨🇦 |

My friends and I are planning a cruise towards the end of this year It'll be the first time for all 3 of us I have a question based on something you said I understand having a port cancelled due to weather or other circumstances We're trying to plan everything prior to the cruise as possible including the excursions If we book an excursion but that port gets cancelled, what happens to the money we paid for the excursion I never thought about that being an issue until this video So thank you I'm trying to learn all I can Comment from : Brittany Connolly |

Thank you for the video! It was very helpful and informative We are looking to book our first family cruise to the caribbean We are a family of 4 with two kids (15 & 12) Most likely we will go with an inside cabin due to cost Prices are per person on double occupancy Does that mean that we would have to share a room for the 4 of us, or can we have 2 joint rooms for the same cost? Thank you! Comment from : Sweet Canada |
I am not new to cruising but, I must say, this is one of the most informative videos I have ever watched on this topic Learned several things I didn't previously know Thank you! Comment from : Wray Ludington |

Looking to book my 1st cruise soon Thanks for this video helpful 😊 Comment from : Brianna Jackson |
I love that description of cruises Take the resort and make it capable of traveling all the way around the planet Now look at your carbon footprint I have no kids I am not at all bothered by the notion of your kids being too hot, too cold, hungry, thirsty eating, breathing and drinking filth I am able to laugh and laugh until I shit myself 🤣😂🤣😂🤣💩💩💩 Comment from : Robustus |
I will not go on a cruise, they are floating peetry dishes, and not only that, they have so many rules, you may as well go to jail, as you are just as restricted I would much rather go to an all inclusive resort Comment from : Victor Jones |
I enjoyed your channel Outstanding information, I will review cruising options and check back Comment from : Crispus Hedgeman |
If I was as negative as you I'd never be happy Comment from : Mark Tilton |
On my first cruise I discovered the extremely rare Other People’s Screaming Children Not only do they scream endlessly, they also touch food and plates on the buffet line when they had no intention of using the plate or eating the food they put back on the buffet with their hand that’s dripping pool water into the rest of the food Lesson learned Comment from : Ken Harris |
Thank you so much I had no idea I’m planning to go on a cruise very soon and I’m so happy I saw your video because I know what I want now thank you ,you save me a lot of anxiety I appreciate that very much Comment from : Heather |

Great advice Comment from : JW |
Unfortunately in the UK, we don’t get money back if the cruise price drops I tried this with P&O and they wouldn’t refund the difference or provide any free add-ons She said if the price went up they wouldn’t be calling us to pay more 😂 Comment from : Helena |
Fantastic tips! Thank you I was totally unaware about the strict cancellation policies and how the cruise line can change their itinerary at will, and you still sometimes can’t cancel once that happens, even if it’s before the cruise starts Comment from : Laila Atallah |
Never seen one of your videos that shows a positive thing about cruising Never seen an uploader doing what you should not do on a plane, a hotel, train, coach trip So basically the best thing about cruising is do not do it Comment from : Will I am not |
For our family our goal for a cruise is being together as in a regular land vacation in summer We usually stay in the pool with no water slides, in the hot tub or if there is a Finnish saunanot a lot of noise or just watching the flying fish while reclining on deck For the ports of call, we go to an art or history museum or historical sites We choose medium sized ships with about 1ooo to 2000 passengersEven when our children we're young, we didn't go to a Disney cruise so that the trip is a learning experience for all of us Comment from : Erlinda Martin |
Good thing cruise ships don't wait for late passengers I hate it when on an airplane, we have to wait for passengers who intentionally abuse the safety regulations that a plane cannot leave with luggage of people that are not on the aeroplane, generally self-entitled big ego wonen gone shopping Comment from : Charles van der Hoog |
My first cruise was a transatlantic crossing but it also wasn't a traditional cruise I loved it Would have enjoyed it even had I paid for it Comment from : jdminette |
Nope, excursions Walk out Talk to the excursion guy doing the excursion bring him aside and ask how much for me and my wife to go with you? They said 10 dollars a price We got a 90 discount by not booking with the cruise line You've gotta roll the dice on this one They could be full and in that case you can go to the beach instead Good luck and save money Works for me every time Comment from : Derrick Yegge |
Stateroom also matters if you catch a cold and need to stay in your room all day We had a balcony and a small living area that we hung out in and watched disney movies on while blowing out our lungs Comment from : uRBruna |
This is why I just go to mexico or cuba Comment from : Vinmango B |
Also make sure you understand the time zone and ship time as well Many ships will have a ship time that may not coincide with the port time Thus causing you to miss the ship altogether Comment from : Bill Simonis |
These are great tips I have only been on one cruise and I wish I had known these tips I went with a group and a close friend and her husband talked me into going with them one day and they actually caused me to have a panic attack because they were convinced the ship would wait for us I finally told them I was taking a taxi back to the ship They made it back eight minutes before the the time on the board to be back Needless to say I did only ship shore excursions for the rest of the trip Also the people checking them back onto the ship told them they barely made it and that the ship would in fact leave without them, if they had missed the check in time Still shaking my head Comment from : Allikattoo |
